Mayesh Wholesale Florist recently announced winners of its charity design contest. The company challenged florists to create a romantic tablescape perfect for Valentine’s Day, which were put to a vote. The top three winners received a large donation to a charity of their choice.
Each of Mayesh’s 16 branches participated, with several designers collaborating on a single concept. Hundreds of people voted.
“We are lucky to have such a passionate community!” said spokesperson Yvonne Ashton.

“We wanted to have a contest that brings designers together with our branches to collaborate on a project,” said Ashton of the project. “What better way to connect with someone than by working side-by-side and doing so for a greater cause?”
Most people have an innate desire to give back “and this contest is a vehicle to do just that,” she said. “It awesome that we get to fulfill both the charitable and creative sides!”
Within 24 hours of announcing the winners, Ashton received the following note from Feeding Children Everywhere:
“We are ELATED! A $3,000 donation will provide 12,000 healthy meals for hungry children… What an impact that will make! Thank you so much!”
