A New Reason to take Caution in accepting orders from Call Centers! All of us independently owned florists know that some of the flowers orders we receive are from call centers. I have had multiple experiences, lately, where the call center will ask if I can get an order out by "x" time, and when I say "No", they then go on to try to give me the order, by asking "Well, what time could you get it out by?" I, once, took an order with this scenario, and then received a formal complaint through a wire service, asking for credit since I didn't get the order out by "x" time! The same thing applies to substitutions, which was, also, part of this order: The call center wanted a dozen roses at "x" price, and I told them we can't do a dozen at that price, so they agreed to go with less roses. They, then, turned around and denied this, however, I could not speak directly to the person who place the order!
It is our responsibility as independent florists to not accept orders from call centers who are cheating our customers! I know it's hard to turn down an order, however, if we are deligent about this, call centers will not be profitable, and will go extinct like the black plague!
