I'm looking into this site in the hope of gaining a fresh perspective about where this industry is headed.
One of my biggest concerns is the feeling of being strangled by the wire services. It is still a nicety to offer the option for a customer to come into our store, speak directly with a designer and feel that there order is being handled even when sent to a different city BUT the prices that are charged by these wire services is criminal. I feel that it is important to stay aware to the fact that we have moved into a technological age and we as flower shop owners have to still prove why it is important to deal directly with the public in both QUALITY of product and customer service.
I'm hoping to get some legitimate ideas on how to keep up with a changing industry outside of local business owner banter.
