The numbers are out.

Look past the headlines and read the details of the flower sectors.

Consumer flower sales down by $4.94 million or 3.2%. They explain away the decline by saying Easter was in the 1st quarter - but I went back and looked at the 1st Q and revenues - and they increased only $960,000.

BloomNet's growth is also slowing to 4.2%, down from 20.9% in the third quarter.

Looks like they did indeed buy Napco (although it was not named):
McCann noted that the Company recently enhanced BloomNet’s growth outlook through a small asset acquisition in July. These assets will expand BloomNet’s existing product offering and enable the company to deepen its relationships with professional florists as their preferred wire service.

On an annual basis, consumer sales of floral products was flat, the home and children's division was down 3.6%, gift baskets were up 1.9% and BloomNet grew the most - by $9.5 million or 20.5%.

The stock was up in early trading but has retraced to within a few cents of the today's opening price.

Did they hire Bad Bobby??

That smoke smells familiar and the mirror...there's something about that mirror...:fdevil:

.

Just curious did the Martha line debut during this quarter and how much "florist partner contributions" will be targetting the bloomNet members just in time for Christmas :)

Martha's debut was april 7th, however the payments for that venture where not taken from us until june and july...so not too sure when the incomes for that would be claimed...

If it is true that they were to sign 1000 florists at 680.00 each that would be 680,000.00.

You know, though, I'm up 20%. Maybe more people are realizing they need to buy from a local florist....and maybe more people are just not buying flowers, or not as often. I don't watch the news for one reason only--it's negative. It's great to know what's going on the with big boys, but if we dwell on it and fill our minds with all this negativity then we shall suffer the same fate.

What about ProFlowers? Anything going on with them? I was just on thier site today. They seem to be quite, lately....

I just emailed my Napco rep to see if she will be looking for a new line to handle.
