I am really P.. Off.. 1800 flowers / blom net gave me an order for Valentines's day.. ( no i'm not a member). and they have not payed me yet. I have called 3 times already and they keep giving me the run around. How do i handle this situation ( yes I know now CC only) and I know that 1 800 fl0wers is very ( not the traditional florist owner) to put this nicely. I also tried to work with them also.. never again.. HH
So thumbs down for 1800 flowers..

call them every day be the biggest pest and keep asking for the next guy in the food chain who handles accounts payables.

Ask them for a credit card to pay this invoice.

and never, never, never take a direct order from them with out a credit card and YES they pay 100% or refuse.

good luck.

Yes, call them and don't give up. I would call and whoever answers the phone tell them you need to speak with a supervisor. Don't get off the phone until you have a cc # AND have run it through for approval.

In the future, I wouldn't even take cc orders from them. (we don't) they still can cancel this on you and be the big pains they are so good at.

Good luck.

How did you know that it was 800flowers calling you with an order?

Did they just tell you that they would send the money for the order after you delivered it? Did they fax you something or email you something?

I just remember a bunch of scams a couple years ago with people calling in orders and using the WS directories claiming they where WS members.

DING! DING! DING!

Eric got it!

800-flowers will never give you an order over the phone. I have been told they will ONLY send orders electronically. This is going WAY back, possibly around 2004-2005.

Also, it's a good practice to never accept a "wire order" from a service you don't belong to and have them "send you a check"...
scam - city.

Hope you are able to get this settled! The person giving you the order should have provided an ORDER NUMBER...every order has one. Without that, you might have problems.

Well in same cases I would have belived this, but back on VD, one of the girls took orders from< No I didn't know at wedding> and she took them, and I did get a gret check from the at mid month in March, quite a surprise, and shoe money..So I don't know why this shop didn't get theres. heavens they could have stiffed us, cause I would have never known.

I am sorry to say that 1-800 Will call out orders. They have tried many times and I refuse them. Or so they say they are from 1-800 flowers.

Luc

P>S> THe other thing I notice this hoiday is the lack of e-mail from those OG pushing orders on the consumers. I dont think I got one e-mail for easter, but for valentine we could get many e-mails a day for orders.
I guess they are kepping they energy for Mother;s Day.

Greg Peck left Bloomnet last year and went to Teleflora.

...Unless he went back again recently?

18F does indeed call out orders. They try to send the order electronically first. If there's not a Bloomnet member in the area, they will try to find a Teleflora member and send via Teleflora electronically. If that doesn't fly, they will call out the order. They do not send electronically through FTD Merc., that relationship ended a couple, three years ago.

We dropped 1800 a short while ago, and they now send us order through teleflora. But, they also DO call orders out. They even did this when we WERE a member with them. HOWEVER, we will NOT accept orders from ANY wire service unless it is electroniclly. No fax, no cc, and no phone orders.

Also, beware of a "wire service" asking you for your shop code. I will NOT give out that number unless I have called them. They will even go as far as telling you they can not send the order without your shop code, I tell them we are in the computer, they will say there system is down, now if they are calling from "HQ" and they can't find you in the system or their system is "down" something is wrong. I tell them well, then I guess you can't send me the order because I will not take it over the phone, fax or email, and will not give you my shop code.

It is like a "bank" calling and asking you for your debit card #. Somethings not right here......

Well, things CAN change over time! Back in the day, there was plenty of coverage...not so anymore.

Anywho, I won't automatically extend credit to w/s I don't belong to...end of story...

Yep, I don't blame you, I've heard loads of stories from florists who got burned by 18F and others. I wonder what would happen if you asked them to pay by their corporate credit card on the spot.

I think a great way to handle these orders that are coming outside of your WS is to tell them to join the WS that you are members with.

"If you would like me to fill orders for you then you need to join (This) WS"

Never mind you can get screwed even if they are members.
