Don't know if FCers are aware that Google Products is consolidating ratings for a number of 'national' companies.

In looking at 1800Flowers.com, I noticed 'local florist' listed as a "Frequently Mentioned Term" in the the left column. When you click on that link, it takes you to all the reviews that mention local florist.

Interesting how many reviewers advise others to call a local florist direct. :)

Here's how Google classifies the reviews out of a total of 623:
Positive reviews (151)
Neutral reviews (101)
Negative reviews (371)

A whopping 60% negative.

FTD doesn't look to fair any better. Local florist is a frequently used term in their reviews, too. Along with never again. Ouch!

This does not surprise me at all. These companies all have severe CS issues, especially at the holidays. They take and take and promise and promise without really know if they can deliver on those orders. Then you have tons of mediocre florists who hire extra help that has less experience and know how than they do(the blind leading the blind) coupled with the demand for good product and the fact that alot of florists will send out the less than desirable product to the customer who is not theirs(wire in order) because it is a discounted order. Then factor in the fed up deliveries and farm direct crap. It is no wonder that these companies have less than stellar reviews. Is this good for us or do consumers assume that all flower shops are this way??? That is the real question...

My customers don't and I would assume yours are the same!

Yeah, mine either but I am concerned for potential customers that get hosed and swear off flowers altogether....but, i guessa flower lover will seek out a good florist and people looking for FF miles will look for another type of gift and would never be ours anyway....

Speaking of 1800 flowers... What do you suppose would happen if consumers knew they used "work from home" order takers.
Good article..maybe we could use the tie in of 800F and the IRS :headbang:

I fail to see anything wrong with work from home order takers.

I work from home every night.
