My visit with them
I just recently had a visit from 1-800 flowers rep (This has nothing against Sue Conway) and sure they want preffered partners in every town they go into.
After my conversations with Sue, and listening to the offer I declined not to go into partnership with them. Basically it came down to them offering you better rebates than the other wire service and membership is based on the number of orders you receive. They are heading on setting up another wire service and I can see the rebates going downhill in the future and membership going up. THe other reason why I decline this offer is that I cannot refuse a 1-800 order IF I am a prefered partner. I hate being told what I can do or cannot do in MY STORE. I WANT TO BE IN CONTROL OF MY STORE ACTIVITY. Third, I got rid of one wire service last year and I am doing quite fine with just one. It comes down to, WHY are we paying more money to receive orders when it can be easily done through the other wire service. The answers is REBATES. Seems they are getting people signing up because of these rebates. I can't imagine good sensible business people going through this route. But again it their choice and shop and for me it's Sorry I don't fill 1-800 flowers orders.
