[SIZE=-1]A recent phone call suggests that this promotion, which has lowered prices on several products, has been absorbed entirely by participating members.

In the call the representative states that the collected amount is in excess of 74.00, then goes on to say that the florist would be paid 49.99.
When questioned the rep says that the price change is due to the promotion.
Last time I knew how to add that equates to an immediate 100% loss to the florist, right off the top of about 24.00.
Of course out of the 49.99, the filling florist is still contributing another 15.00 or so back to 800 for a grand appx total of 40.00 which leaves the filler with appx 35 to make it, deliver it and lose money.

Now I may be losing, or have already lost my mind, but is there something wrong here, more so than the normal
WS BS ?

Do 800 members have any clue that the promotional discount just may have been pocketed ?
If that is the case, and such disclosure was not made to members, would that not constitute a pretty major problem ?

Just curious what those in the know may feel on this issue.

This "annual" promotion was due to end (thankfully) on Sept. 1st.

BUT.... was "extended" according to a rep I spoke with. She did not even know the program was still going on, had to look up the order on the website herself. This "extension" was not known by us either.

Something is NOT right here - as usual with 800...

PS - my BLM experiment is nearly complete.

I just got the slimcast yesterday or Thursday saying it was extended...not sure how we are supposed to do that when sept 1st our rose prices go up from "summer" prices to "regular" season prices...which is a 25 cent jump. Luckily I don't get many orders for roses from 800-flowers...

I personally think they are running so below normal volume that they are extending it to grab the fall anniversary sales and they will be trying to grab them with low rose prices...They are gone for me November 1st, they have already been put on notice verbally, now I just have to write the letter..and send it certified baby!!!!

After reading recent threads about lawsuits being threatened, I have much to say but have virtually stopped commenting about w/s... but all I will say is...

"What you said Kevin and Mark!"

Been somewhat removed from the current goings on lately so not really up to speed on anything that would make WS members turn tail and run from the big boys, unless of course the spalding factory went out of business.

As far as second and third hand allegations and scuttlebutt that are surfacing all over, that would suggest a completely off the charts level of wrongdoing, the bottom line is :
If such allegations were ever proven to be true, it is not the paying members, or consumers, that would need to worry. Look carefully at the implications of such an issue.

The matter surrounding the Rose Promotion sale, and extension, whether fact or fiction , are valid reasons for participating members to question the actual collected amounts for these orders.
If the discounted amount is in fact the valid charge to the consumer, and the reduction amount is not being charged or retained, there is no issue.

Well worth the request for disclosure of the terms regarding this promotion.
Members are entitled to the truth right ?

As a member still, all I will say that is factual, and documented, is that we have been involved with these orders and have repeatedly questioned the pricing.
On more than one occasion we have received up to 40.00 more to get the job done. That alone is enough to make anyone wonder where the extra money is coming from.

Guess an answer will be coming shortly to straighten the confusion out.
Can't imagine that a company with such tremendous integrity would ever engage in such practices !!!!!
