Never had this happen before in over 40 years in this business.
Had a call from a florist last week asking if I recalled 2 orders they sent us, one in the first week of May and one at the end of May......
I asked who they were going to, and wondering to myself what did we do wrong. The florist responded well I phoned them and the first time I spoke to Leslie and the second time to Charity.
He continued and said that his customer was so thrilled with the flowers and service we provided that she wanted the 2 staff members to each have a $10.00 tip and he proceeded to give me his customers cc# to charge the $20.00 to.

We've had tips before................but on a wire in order!!!
Wonder if any of the dot.coms would forward a tip to the filling florist???

Uhhhhh - In a word...... "NO"

Just when you think you have heard it all....

Along comes another "Good on ya!"

I doubt any OG would forward a tip.

I am curious to know what ya'll sent. If you have a record, please do tell.

Nothing spectacular...both were mixed planters (we make our own) if I remember correctly they had some specs as to plant varieties. One order required a second delivery attempt as we tagged the door first time round. One of the orders we were asked by the sending florist in a second phone call to add a name to the card...........just normal stuff all real florists do every day.

Good job....some people do notice a job well done...and probably appreciated that they could get something sent from afar...not everyone in the world sucks, there are still a few left with proper manners, morals and a head on their shoulders...

Nice Story! Hope it's TRUE!

You know me John, being a New Yorker and all that, I would have to TRUST but VERIFY!

Meaning that, after the sending florist told me the story and gave me the customer's CC number plus their address and telephone number, I would be on the telephone with that customer to THANK THEM for the tips and for appreciating the quality of our work.

If their customer told me "YOU'RE VERY WELCOME!", I'd be as happy as a New York Cherrystone Clam lying under the warm mud in Long Island Sound.

If they told me something else, Well then?

I'm hoping you're a HAPPY CLAM and not gonna get shucked!

TOTO got this...beat me by 2 hours, but hey - I been bizzy today (cause other shops around me closed today!)

I see a RED FLAG here (bold in BBJ's post). Doesn't anyone else? Personally, I would have thanked the florist, and asked for the customer's phone number to "return the thanks and confirm the credit card transaction." (along with their address, etc...)

Not sure on this, but me thinks it's illegal in the state of PA to charge a credit card as a 3rd party transaction.
