A Little Empathy? Very little...

An FTD employee's comment made this list of thoughtful corporate policy and communications statements.

My sister passed away and her funeral was scheduled for Monday. When I told my boss, he said she died on purpose

so that I would have to miss work on the busiest day of the year. He then asked if we could change her burial to Friday. He said, ``That would be better for me.'' (Shipping executive, FTD Florists)

Kinda gives ya the warm and fuzzies about the corporate culture...

About some of the others on the list..

The list is amusing, but what I noticed was the number of well respected, forward-thinking companies that made the list. Quite a few of them are known for innovation and thinking outside the box -- I guess there are duds in every company!
