Have had JustFlowers try to order by MercDirect twice this past week, have rejected both orders (both very underpriced and less than on their site). Just rejected one 15 minutes ago and just now got a call from someone at FTD asking if we'll take a credit card order for the hospital. I asked who it was from, JustFlowers? She said yes. Told her I don't fill for them and she said "don't blame you". Very polite, very sweet and understanding. Imagine! Calling an FTD member with a credit card to try to get that order filled. I'm sure one of the other shops here will accept it. Oh well.
Considering that 7 of the last 9 orders I've received from MercDirect have been OG (and all been rejected), I think it's time to pull the plug on the machine for good. And YES, I pay $1.00 for each of those rejects because they still charge you the incoming FTO fee. And yes, Quality Assurance has gone up according to the online statement for "FTD University"- another farce.

Allright I'll bite, BOSS...what the heck is a "RFE"??

Real Florist Employee?
Rotten Funny Elephant?
Well it took ya long enuf....

In light of the Jihad in te floral industry today....

Instead of rejecting which costs you a dollar why not forward to 90-2825aa domestic retrans.. thats who called you..from FTD I am sure but why should you lose the dollar.. I know you can not forward back to Justflowers since they are allowed to be sending only but you sure could forward to the ftd dept and let them do the work and not lose the dollar,

Tell Them You Don't Take OG'S

:fdevil: In the PQ section of the directory description, I have added: "We do not serve OG's".

Then I forward these orders to Domestic ReTrans.

Don't get many now.........

Thanks Carol, maybe I'll try that but, I'm the only FTD florist here. They'll probably still call me! Until they sign up another shop here.

Our dove has been ringing like crazy however I usually have it turned off so the phone line just rings. Sometimes when I have to restart our server I forget to turn it off the dove and its usually just flowers trying to send an order below our minumum and usually under priced as well. I think our shop is listed first in our area and perhaps thats why I keep hearing it going off. However it usually is just flowers trying to sneak in an order.

I just checked our stats comapring last years incoming. We had over 700 incoming orders last year around 40,000 in sales.

This year we are around 50 orders at 4.000 in total sales.

What a difference because our own sales are way up comapre to last year and without the incoming orders from last year and the super market sales that we had during the first 6 months I can honestly say the right decssion was made!!!!

I am sure many have noticed that I have been really posting against the wire service the talk of signing up with bloomlick and filling discounted orders. The message I share is honestly the truth and if you continue to fill orders for them you are only keeping them in business longer.

I was scared as hell when I decided to pull the plug with FTD and 800 flowers and keep my dove turned off and if I could show everyone the difference in real sales compared to the prevous sales that included a ton of incoming orders I know that many would truely understand why I keeping saying it.

But I can't show you because my wife would kill me!!! If anyone here can really understand this number I think it would really open your eyes.

This year my check that I fill out for Sales Tax has almost trippled every month compare to last years.

The end of the year is approching fast and why not make your new years reseloution to include no more incoming orders and start cuttin back on sending. It would put an end to the madenss that we are all going through and get those customers to start calling you directly. Can you imagine opening up the phone book and not seeng blooms sent today on the first two full pages? Or looking at Super Pages and seeing local florist listed instead of a mess of order gathers and wire services?

I have an incrediable story to share with all of you and I know if I could just show you the proof that you need it would change everything.

Eric...this is ONE of THE BEST POSTS you have ever composed, and presented....it bears witness to the fact that speaking from the heart, is FAR MORE enticing than shooting from the hip, and we welcome your story, and "experiences" with your terrific growth!!
Well done.....!!!!:thumbsup

Sometimes it's like taking a breath of pure, unpolluted air, isn't it, Eric?

Good post and totally agree...It is scary, but you learn you can sit on your hands and make more money than spinning your wheels.

Except for that last part - it will not get those customers to call you directly - it will get them to call someone else like TFTD.

Why would you want to cut back on sending? My New Year's resolution will be to send more, which means fighting "them" for those orders.

They Don't Give Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been rejecting blooms today, and their alias names all morning. Big furneral in next town, too bad these people didn't call direct, would of been nice money! But anyhoo, OG keeps calling, I won't even give them the time of day to pick up the phone, but I am ready to throw it through the window. Well I just got another duplicate order they tried to send without their name attached to it, but you know what they can't change...their florist code, the fools! Just sent back a nasty reject, (cause I tried the forward thing and it wouldn't go through for me), and the phone is still ringing from the jerks! Getting ready just to shut off the machine....Calgon, take me away!

Julz.....let me run something past you!!
You are obviously very agitated with the antics of these OG's (dOGs), and good for you that you've learned to "recognize" the REAL orders from the "bonemeal" orders, BUT, have you by any chance thought about throwing massive price changes at them, instead of rejecting ( at a cost to you)??
IF they call.....tell them they've annoyed you 50 bucks or a 100 bucks today, and you won't settle for less!!
Not to say that you'd consider filling for them.....just pull out your 44 magnum, and ask them IF THEY want to make your day??
We ARE making progress with OG's....we CANNOT allow them to "get our goats"...or they've "won"!!
