Im jealous... I would LOVE a party like that!!! Lucky kid! too cute.

How old is Maddie?

My daughter is going to be four this April Fools Day and we are going to have a face painter/balloon lady come to the house this year and do lots of wacky pranks for the games. Was going to do a magician, but hubby said no way are we bringing a real live rabbit into our house.

Oh she is a cutie! All that hair... I think I spot a heartbreaker in training. Kai's Auntie is a chef in DC, maybe we will look you up next time we fly out to visit. :umok: :umok:

Thanks, I love this little girl, her teachers have told me that they expect to see her on Broadway someday. She is a type AAA for sure.

I have another daughter who is almost 2. Tessa Claire. She is a lover of flowers and peanut M&Ms.

I wanted to share this message because little girl birtday parties are all the rage in our area. I thought it would be fun if flower shops actually set out "little girl birthday party table in their store" and market some ideas that Moms can use. I think if you design a table something along these lines, Moms who walk into your store and see it will remember it. By the way, 4 year olds love fairies, princesses are passe'.

Here is another hint, "shop at IKEA" great kiddy tables and chairs you can rent out for parties.

Oh Aileen, you are the one I am jealous of! I wanted little boys so much. Kai is perfectly matched to drive me batty sometimes.

I wonder if anyone might like having girl birthday parties in their shops? Saturday afternoon, when most are closed anyway. The girls can make bouquets! Might have to use kiddy scissors instead of flower knives, tho. Might be a way to make some extra $$.

I am so lucky to have 3 boys and 1 girl. :) Since Thom showed off his kids, I have to too.

I stumbled across this website several months ago, I have been kicking it around in my head ever since. i think there is some potential in your post Beth. Converting a flower shop into a event space for little girls is totally fabulous! What a way to create Buzz. I dare you to search for venue options for kids parties in your area, not many.

Particularly for girls, Thom. I can think of a few local options: Kid's Play Place, Karate school, Gymnastics place, Bowling... but nothing that's very girly! Those ceramic places (you paint greenware and they fire it) were popular for awhile, but there seem to be fewer of those lately.

I think we need to nominate Thom for the next Top Design (he can kick that arrogant Martha wanna be's butt)

I love this idea. There was the idea that someone was doing that was a do-it-yourself for brides and their bridal parties. They paid for the flowers and could come in and design away with a staff member (paid of course!) to guide them along. I thought that was a great idea.

I can only imagine that would translate very well to children's parties since all of the licensing that would be needed for the do-it-yourselfers would be the same. Especially if we have parents on hand along with the florist.

It's true that places that cater to kids are few and those of us who would be willing to patron it just don't have many choices. This seems like a natural fit for those of us who really enjoy children and could help diversify our target markets a little.

Hmmm... these ideas have my brain a'turning this evening.
