Kim put her heart on a page for the world to see...she has given me permission to send it to my friends. Kim is 14...I've watched her grow...
V

He was so young
Placed a gun in his hand and the feeling stung
Ripped right from his family's side

All the way to the station he sure did cry
War was his nightmare, why did it come true?

But it happened so fast, what else could he do?
He said goodbye to his mother but she couldn't let go

His father shook his hand, he's about 50 or so
His little sister looked at him tired and confused

Just yesterday she saw another girls brother get killed on the news
Why were they fighting, she couldn't understand

Was it for money, or for someone elses land?
He kissed her goodbye and wiped a tear from her cheek

He was so proud of his sister, even when she was weak
So he climbed on the train and watched his family break down
But he kept his tears inside, just showing a frown

Other soldiers near him held up pictures of loved ones
The man beside him showed him pictures of his sons

Why was he pulled away from a life on the right track?
Only to fight someone elses battles with men that they lacked

Arriving at the battle field his eyes became so stern
He tried not to think of his family, because for them he yearned

Running as fast as he could, killing people he didn't know
He'd forgotten about his memories about not wanting to go

Suddenly he felt a little faint as his legs just gave out
His new friend dying next to him, his captain starting to shout
He could no longer move his legs and he couldn't feel his feet
He missed his mom oh so much that he began to weep

Darkness fell over him just then and he woke up on a plane
Still unable to move his legs he wanted to move again
Falling back asleep now then he woke up to see a crowd
People were smiling so much and they're cheering was so loud

He realized that he was back home, but he couldn't figure out why
He wondered to himself just then, why his new friend had to die

Looking around frantically he noticed injured soldiers greeting family

Where was his mom and dad.. why couldn't he see?

Suddenly a woman approached him, such a beautiful familar face
His mother wept into his chest, his father then took her place
His sister smiled so happily but her face spelled of a broken heart
They told him he was paralyzed but he could have a new start

This story goes to the politicians who will take away my brother
I don't want him to leave me, because I have no other
Stop the war and just start peace because I am too young
To grow up in a world of hate where I'll always be stung
I love my family way too much, to have to see them leave
So stop the war, please, so I don't have to grieve.
