Columbia Records announced today the October 20th release of AC/DC's widely-anticipated Black Ice, the band’s first studio album in eight years. Black Ice features 15 new tracks from brothers Angus and Malcolm Young, Brian Johnson, Cliff Williams, and Phil Rudd. The album was produced by Brendan O’Brien at the Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, BC.

“Rock 'N' Roll Train,” the album’s first single, will debut on August 28th. The video will premiere in September. And the band is set to kick off its first world tour since 2001 in late October.

Black Ice will be sold in the U.S. exclusively at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club retail locations at the special price of $11.88. Online, the CD will be available with free shipping and handling via the band’s website, www.acdc.com. It will also be sold at Walmart.com and Samsclub.com.

OK, I am a hard rock/heavy metal guy....got to get this....(even thou I do not really like buying from Walmart).

Can't believe I'm saying "Thanks for sharing this" ;) I think my hubby would love to see this album, and a concert would make his day ... or possibly year. Great 40th b-day gift for his big day coming soon.

Maybe I could get NavyBrat to go with him to the concert. :>

for those about to rock, we salute you!!!! Brendan Obrien is one of the best producers!

Have you ever seen the movie "school of rock" with Jack Black?

Great frigin movie for all ages and a lot of AC-DC references!:ukflag:

Excellent movie!

AC/DC is one of my all time favorites, so stoked for the new album, sucks it's Wal-Mart only.

OH yes! Thanks for sharing. AC/DC is also my all time favorite hard rock band! Can't wait to get this too!! Oh well, I guess I can buy one item from wal-mart this year. LOL

Yea, that was on TV again last week. It was killer when he was asking those young kids about not knowing the "Led".

Should be a good album. I liked all their other "new" albums even though some of the critics weren't as pleased (new I mean from 1990-present). They had some really good tracks on them. They are in top 10 bands for me, no doubt.

Definitely going to hit up one of their concerts when they come through Texas on their upcoming tour. Nothing would be better than getting loaded on ridiculously over priced beer and banging my head to AC/DC.

This is one of my fav songs off one of their more "recent" albums.

- And if you tell me Brian Johnson sings Highway to Hell better than Bon Scott, I'll fight you. :D

Walmart only! Pfffft! That's not very Rock n Roll in my book. Corporate sell outs! What about the independent record retailers? Please tell me they still exist in your part of the world! I guess the online purchase would be the best option :(

Accadacca are old school anyway - If you like to rock I can recommend theses newer Aussie greats:

Frenzal Rhomb (punk with a sense of humour)
Cog (Awesome vocals)
Grinspoon (A bit 90's I know)
Shihad (AKA Pacifier)

And many more. I've always thought it a shame that our true talent don't always get much attention outside Australia.
