Accent Decor Water Pearls

We call them caviar...and love them. In the right setting they are awesome. We played around with clear ones at first and used colored water...seems like the more water you use the larger the pearl becomes although it does have its limits. The acolytes work well with them too
Have used blue, clear, red and black...the black knocks my socks off.
We also recyle them back to the cooler if an item does not sell or we do a strike and have florals from a party. DO NOT PUT THEM IN YOUR SINK OR THEY ACT LIKE CONCRETE...Us a black plastic bag to throw them out.
Good luck...and have some fun..

We use them all the time.
GREAT SELLER!
Sometimes, just an inch or so in the bottom of a clear glass cylinder bowl, with a flower or two floating on top (Note: too little water, and there is not enough for the flower to drink. To much, and the beads will look like tapioca pudding gone bad.))
We sell an arrangement called Fire and Ice. Fill a vase 2/3 full, and float candles on top. Cheap, sellable, and still beautiful.
I did a 70's disco theme party, filled a clear vase 3/4 full with beads, then then submerged a few cloured light cubes underwater. Floated a giant dahlia on top, in neon colours. WOW.
If you use HOT water, the beads will grow bigger. We prepare them before going home in giant tupperware containers,...next morning they are ready to go. Any extra, or any that come back we store in the cooler till the next party, and put an arrangement into the shop , showing how to use them to sell the individual packs.
TIP: We re-package the beads into little jars from the dollar store, and put custom printed labels onto them. It allows us to mark up the price more, and we rename the beads so it loks like a custom product. Great way to make an extra buck.
Last year we sold over a thousand little jars at 7.50 each.
Try it. It has worked for us.

Jenny, I got some from Hunter. They were supposed to be colored but the color is very faint. I got green, orange and red. The green are the only ones I've hydrated yet. I bought "resale packs" to try them out for a wedding on the 25th. You do have to make sure your stem goes to the bottom where a bit of water is held. I'm using 5" cubes with pearls and gerb "floating" on the top. Gerb is about 2" from bottom.

Oh, the gel pearls are awesome! We used them all the time for Mitzvahs. We would always pour them in after hydrating them and add accolytes. The effect is so cool and modern and funky. Don't throw them in the garden after use. They never go away. We did that once and the pearls are still there after a year.

We have used the cubes and pearls and use distilled water for maximum size. They are so fun to play with and really inspire creativity! Give them a try...I think you'll be very happy with the results.

There are many different brands of these. We sell a similar product from a different company, customers LOVE them. You can put food coloring in the water to change the colors. Another cool effect is to mix regular beads/pearls from the craft store WITH the polymer beads. Also, if you mix up a small batch of the polymer beads a few weeks before the event, they will actually start turning more liquidy by the time the event comes. THEN make up another batch a day or two before the event, and mix the two batches. The newer ones will float like bubbles in the older ones. Add some actual craft pearls, and you have an incredible effect.

But as has been said before here on FC about the Crystal Accents, NEVER, EVER, EVER pour them down the drain. They will clog your plumbing and create a nightmare. Should say that on the bottle, but in case it doesn't... Also, there are certain flowers they are not recommended for use with. May want to ask the folks at AD what their bottles say... I know ours warn against use with fresh orchids, roses or succulents, but I cannot speak for their product.

Oh, and they also provide entertainment. One of my coworkers used them in vases for her son's wedding. I was a guest at the wedding. You cannot imagine the creative uses a bunch of 19 and 20 year old guys can come up with for these things. They make great ammunition. Or can be rubbed on the necks of screaming 19 and 20 year old girls. Or dropped down the back of dresses, again of screaming 19 and 20 year old girls... Combine that with acolytes that can be placed in the back pockets of pants and shirt pockets to light up certain things... Oh my. The DJ didn't even need to be there. The arrangements provided all of the entertainment. If only I had a Flip, I could have made quite a funny YouTube video...

You said you wanted a FUN centerpiece!!

We do not currently use the water pearls although I love the look.
We have been hestitant because of the liability issues of water pearls
down the drain. Is this not a problem for anybody?

Everything is a liability. Glass vases, wires, balloons....

Just disclose the information and be done with it.

And we re-use ours, then when we are tired of them, mix them with plants to hold in moisture and keep the soil hydrated.

Ralph Null just did a plant program at symposium that was amazing and featured the water crystals. Order the DVD from AIFD when it becomes available. Lots of cool ideas.

Jodi is right - When it becomes available, get the DVD of Raph Null's AIFD program. You will be INSPIRED by the uses for the Accent Decor Water Pearls.

I also worked with them while assisting Els Tuenissen for the Accent Decor booth. They are an incredible look.
