Hey all,

To date, I've been very good about ordering everything in time so the flowers are perfect for whatever I've needed them for. The past week, in getting ready for a big wedding show EVERYTHING that could go wrong has, and here I am with roses that will not be fully open in time.

The show is tomorrow, I need to work with them tonight. What can I do to force the buggers open in time?

Thanks!

Slowly run warm (not hot) water into the top of the rose so that the warm water rests within the petals. This can help "relax" the rose so that it opens up.

Also, try using warmer water in the pail.

Deep warm water, warm room (turn on heater if needed) add sugar to vase solution. Keep water warm and recut stems each time you change the water.

You can also try to open the flower if they are starting to get loose, by rolling the stem between your palms. (stem is perpindicular to palm, roll back and forth a few times).

You might try this... Although I've never tried it with roses, it works like a charm on Lillies. Try running warm water into the pale. then put a plastic bag over the pale to trap the warm air.
