Now, even I think this is a dumb question but...
the addendums added to a designer who earns them such as mine "mmfd"......are they written in order as earned. If you achieve your AAF or PFCI before AIFD you would be AAF PFCI AIFD
(is it PFCI or PCFI?) either way...how do you add them when you have more than one??

Just a little "lite" thread!!

Not a dumb question at all. In fact I'm not sure there is a correct answer.

I always list them alphabetically... AAF AIFD PFCI TMFA

I was told by an AIFD Past President that AIFD always comes first. Yet, I haven't seen anyone but her do this.

Some people put commas in between, some don't.

Some use aaf instead of AAF.

Then there are AIFD Fellows, do you add the word Fellow or not? Some do, some Don't. If you do, is it too ALL CAPS or upper and lower.

So...the answer is ???

I crapped all over Annie (Jordan) when she made our master course addendums lower case mmfd....(kiddingly of course, love Ann)...
especially because our beginners certification is PCF (Professional Certified Florist)
I've also typed them out for newsletters and show flyers using the alphabetical way unless a press release states different. Thanks!

I find most are at the preference of the user. Generally membership into AIFD comes first if not AAF, multi users list, AAF, AIFD, PFCI, TMF for example.
Maybe when introducing guest floral industry persons, ask them what they prefer.
Generally no big deal!
Eddie Payne AIFD....thats it!

Alphabet soup!

What a fun question. It's entered my mind recently with the addition of a third for me personally. (CPF)

Most AIFD members I know use AIFD first EXCEPT when they are at a Society of American Florists function, when they might use AAF first in respect. I have usually seen this order:
AIFD AAF PFCI and state designation last.
But there have been exceptions.

There's a story about the original reason for aaf vs. AAF but I can't remember it. I just know that aaf has been abandoned. SAF uses caps and lists AAF before other designations in their own publications.

There is no single correct way. You choose your own priorities.

For me, I even have initials BEFORE my last name. Gag.

(ps- it's PFCI - Professional Floral Communicators - International)

Hey BJ...maybe you can start a whole new designation where the initials come before the name! Boy wouldn't that confuse everyone!lol
