Is there anyway to block the new advertisements and contest promotion from showing up on the screen?

That's right. I thought I had answered this, but that must have been in a different thread or a PM. Sorry for the oversight!
When we announced the new FC model earlier this year it included a revised ad platform. We're featuring banners from the vendors that are a part of the FlowerChat community. No AdSense, etc.
