As I was searching a florist for an order to the US and I know there is a flower chat florist firectory, but I was wondering also if we should advertise in the FTD and TF directories, for those people who have the extra space they put Product and city information. We can put something like we belong to Flowerchat.com

SO at a quick glance we can spot a flowerchat florist and we may get other florist question what is flowerchat.com

Any thoughts

That is a good idea...I have done a whole lot of thinking on my expanded listing this last time and changed it, I was more wording it in diret selling to a consumer, Flowerchat has retrained me to thinking about my ads and who i am reaching..I have now added more pertinent info, like award winning designer, how many years experience, my affiliation with the TF board of education all things other florists might find appealing rather than what I carry, duh, most florists know what we carry unless it is something so far out of the norm like a very extensive line of tropicals in the middle of Kansas....

It would be a cool. But I think FTD and TF might have a tiny problem with that.

It would be cool though!!

I don't think they can or would stop you from saying anything on your extended listing...I could be wrong but I have never been told any list of things that can or cannot be said on my listing...

As I see it, If I pay for that space, I can write whatever I want.

It would not be bashing the wire service, it is used to advertise flower chat.

Now we all know there is people on FTD and Teleflora on here, maybe they can voice something of a reply.

Better keep my name out of the discussion ;)

I can just see it now, with these fee-happy w/s. OK, you can put things like flowerchat.com, linkedin, etc., but that will be another $10 a month for the extra space all those things will take up in your listing! We'll name the new fee "web-site-affiliations-listings"...

Now why would you give them the idea of charging extra.
If they do, I will be blamming it all on you!

I understand what you are trying to do Luc. I know that when you are in the middle of taking an order it would be nice to have a quick reference guide at hand to florists you know from flowerchat. Not sure the wire service book is the answer though, but certainly a good thought. The issues, other than the obvious ones, would be a store like mine that rarely uses the actually directory in print, but rather the one that is built into the wire service guide though the POS. Also I would fear I would miss using one of these great florists because they were not wire service affiliated or not with the one I was listed in. Sorry, not providing any answers, just more questions I guess. I wonder if there is any way we could put the membership list into a format to print that would work as a quick reference guide? Someone smarter than I can probably answer that one.

Now, THAT is not a bad idea, A Printable list of FlowerChat members.......safeguarded in a such a way that only actual FlowerChat members could access the list of course.

Nicole, I believe there may be a question because in the past we have been denied a link to realflorists.com from our websites by TF because of the sites content and flowerchat content isn't much different..

Was it something I said?
