I am doing a wedding on April 24th. We are swagging fabric from the ceiling to the altar and down the back walls. Does anyone have any advice on a good material to use. I want one that will not be see through but not to heavy. I had thought about a polyester or muslin. Hope someone can help. Also could use some suggestion on attaching the material to the painted wall. Have used 3m hooks in the past.
Thanks!:help:

You better call that church ASAP and see what they allow, and also what you can use on the walls, as far as the attaching or go on a field trip and see what is already on the walls to use to hang things on. I would use organza or even shantung.

We can use just about anything we want, just no nails. The ceiling has a fan that has been used previously for the attachment site of the material. I was thinking of using a drawstring for attachment to the fan and then attaching with a string across the 3 m hooks, and kind of covering with a little dip from the material at the top, then bring material to floor. Does this sound crazy?
I can't thank you enough for taking time with this.

I've been researching this, and I'll share an email I received, which has the answer:

Hello Sloan,
You may purchase good quality flame retardant voile from several sources. Check out www.rosebrand.com, www.dazian.com, or contact a representative at your nearest interior decorators' showroom. I will be publishing my book, "Ceiling Draping 101 - The Art and Business of Ceiling Draping", some time this summer. It would be a valuable tool for your business, if you are going to add it as a service. More info on my website here:

Once my book is published, I will also offer training sessions for event decorating companies like yours. If you are interested in the book or training opportunities, there is an email signup on that page.
Best Regards,
Betsey Giles
