I have a funeral for an Officer killed in the line of duty.
He was 39 years old, married with 3 young children.

The viewing will be Monday and Tuesday, and the funeral will be on Wednesday.
The Casket will be draped with a flag and the family has ordered peices to go inside the casket.

From each child they want a single rose with the childs name on the ribbon.
From his wife they want 6 red roses, presentation style.
From his sisters another presentation style bouquet of 4 roses.

My question is: would you Tube the roses? Normally I wouldn't but since we have a 2 day viewing I am concerned that by the 2nd day they will not be looking so good.

Maybe I'm over thinking this: I know they are simple designs, but in my mind it is the last gift from his family...it HAS to be perfect.

Water tubes look ugly and bulky and can leak. Covering the tubes with ribbon can sometimes just be a mess.

I thought about replacing them for the second viewing..

What would you do?

Thats a tough one Jennifer, I understand what you mean about the tubes, in case they leak. Why dont you have the extras in to replace them the next day and ask the fh if they need replacing. Not quite sure how things work over there, over here they would probably be ok the next day but then it is colder here.

I would order extras and replace them if needed. Looks like you have time...I might run to the fabric store and find a suitable piece of fabric either plain or patriotic to wrap the bottom of the stems and then tie with a bow. This is a nice way to cover the stems in water tubes, I've done it before and it looks very finished. Before putting the fabric finish on, wrap the stems in poly so if the tubes leak, it won't show through the fabric.
I have used red roses, deep blue fabric and a white bow...looks very nice.
