Here's a bouquet of mine I do a couple of times a year. Yet every time a bride chooses this bouquet, I'm a bit frustrated with what flowers the Maid's bouquet should have that truly compliments the strong lines of the calla bridal bouquet.

So I have a Sept. bride whose palette is ivory and burgundy and she doesn't want the Maids to carry callas of any kind. What do you think would compliment this bouquet?
Thanks in advance.

White roses in the same clean, no frills design style. Same ribbon stem wrap to keep consistency-but maybe burgundy to match the maid's dresses. Really, any white flower that's clean lined and not too "textural" would be ok. If it was spring I would consider white tulips.

Linda - hmmm, I never really have thought about using lilies.
I can honestly say that although lilies are one of my favorite flowers, I use them everywhere except in bouquets. Have always thought they were too fragile and have never gotten a request for them.
But I do think you are right because they offer a strong and simple line. Thanks :)

Roses is what I usually use to compliment the calla bouquet. Glad I'm not the only one. Thanks for the input.

Use lily grass wound around the blooms, that helps petals from getting broken and lends a very contemporary look.

What's the budget? I love cymbids with callas! Or a clutch of dendrobs.

Another direction would be to do a high contrast, something like waxflower or hydrangea... airy and light.

After thinking about it for awhile, I like green cymbids with the burgundy throat. That would be striking!

Or...just carry through with a cluster of mini callas for the maids.....in the same styling as the brides bouquet.
