AdWords now influencing Organic Results?

Google has always claimed that AdWords participation had no impact on organic results. Oddly enough, the page making this statement is no longer online.

It's not likely that Google will allow paid listings to influence the precious organic results ... but it's curious that they are no longer denying it!

This would be horrible for the general SERPs, but you can buy your way to the top of the local search listings with a "sponsored listing". They might have been called on that, and have to rework the text on their page.

We know a really, really good seo guy who has said for a long time that coordinating your adwords and organic will improve your organic ranks considerably. Go figure

Web Guru Danny Sullivan says "No, Buying Ads Still Won't Help You With Google's Free Listings"

PPC Discussions noted that a long-standing page at Google advising that buying ads is not a way to rank better for free on Google had disappeared.

Sign of a new change? No, Google says it was accidentally removed and will be restored when new help pages are published shortly. FYI, a similar page is still live here. Until the other one comes back, here's what it said:

Google's advertising programs are independent of our search results. Search results display on the left side of our results page; ads appear on the right and in the colored box at the top.​
