recently returned from the 2008 national symposium in chicago. it was great to see a number of fc's there. the programs that i attended were spectacular. if you are ever in need of a design "shot in the arm"...i'd suggest you consider attending their 2009 national symposium in kansas city.

Bill, Great to met you at smposium, great booth space, thanks for the positive remarks about the symposium.
Kansas City plans to be a major "shot" to anyones arm...watch for details to come.

The programs were top notch this year. Going to symposium each year feeds my soul.

I got to meet several flower chatters and each one of them were nice people. I talked to several people about joining Flower Chat, so, maybe a few new ones will be posting.

I forgot, so please remind me. Who is chairing the KC Symposium? I would love to help promote it in our region as much as possible.

I think Lynn Moss AIFD is symposium chair for Kansas City

And they are going to be hard pressed to "TOP" this years symposium. To say it was top notch would be and understatement. With out a doubt, the designers were in a league of thier own and the wholesalers/growers/suppliers/partners all deserve a HUGH round of applause from each and every one of us for their generosity of product, minds and spirit!! I was blown away from the first to the last program, they each went way above my hard pressed expectations.
It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Induction night was moving and once again made me personally aware of why I am a member of this outstanding Association of professional designers. I take my hat off to each and every participant and volunteer who took the time to create floral art at its very best.
If I may suggest...start saving now for next years event. You will not be sorry for the investment made for your own enrichment.

I think that the programs this year were the best that have been presented in a long time. Meals were good, programs on time.
All and all a very good smooth year.
I love seeing my flower friends!!!!!

AIFD Kansas City Symposium 2009

I attended Chicago's AIFD Symposium and we had a great schedule of programs...What a challenge for my position as Symposium Coordinator next year...I would like to hear from you guys as to something that would be of interest to you that you didn't see enough of this year???? Many think of Kansas City as a small cowtown....This hotel is downtown (Hyatt Regency)with Hallmark Cards(Crown Center) and lots of money spent on the Power and Light district...There is nothing more charming than the fountains and THE PLAZA for shopping and dining, but we all know its about networking and learning the latest ideas and styles to make our business more successful...That's what I get out of AIFD Symposium.....
Hope to hear from many of you soon. Lynne Moss AIFD:loopy

Bill...
can't believe I never ran into you.

You're so right. This was my first AIFD Symposium and I was blown away. There aren't enough words to describe the shows we saw. These designers have talent ooozzzing through their soul. I thank everyone who contributed to putting the symposium together, I'm sure the hours were endless.

This year was my first Symposium...AMAZING!! I have met such wonderful friends! It truely refirms why I work 10 plus hours a day (on slow days)! It was great to meet some of my fellow "flowerchatters". I can't wait for next year! You'll be seeing lots of me.....

AIFD Symposium

Once you get hooked on AIFD Symposium you always enjoy meeting new people and seeing unlimited creativity...Totally different than any organization in our industry...Please pass on the good word to those in your area since Kansas City is so close....Lynne

There is no way you could have missed Bill. He was everywhere I looked and always entertaining someone. It makes my day to run into him because he has such interesting stories. He is a class act.

Babylon, it was great to meet you and I loved you as a model in the Bridal Show.

Oh My Goodness - Florists as models - How many times have we seen this at AIFD - and it is ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS great fun. That might be a great thread to get started - The most fun moments with AIFD National.

At the top of the list would be "cocktail hour" - sooner or later, everybody ends up meeting in the hotel lounge for cocktails.

I hated not being able to go this year to Chicago, but I love going to National - I aways learn so much, and my creativity gets a boost, and I always meet and make new friends......which is the best part of it all.
