...or did you have a hard time figuring out how to navigate the flowerchat website? I can't seem to find the same thing twice! I'm not even sure if I'm a member yet. I stumbled up the "reputation" page for myself for myself (still don't know what that is!) and someone asked a question and I couldn't figure out how to get the answer to them. I guess that's why I'm a florist and not a computer programmer.
 
Oh, it may take a while to figure it out, but you'll GET IT! The Search doesn't work so swell, from what I've found anyway. Topics change and new ones pop up, some things aren't posted in the right forum but it's all OK. You'll get the hang of it. The reputation button is for when you like/dislike and/or agree/disagree with what somebody has said. Be prepared for backlash on the red dots! I don't give them.... Groans and Thanks are kind of the same thing, on a smaller scale but everybody SEES it. Sometimes I thank people just to let them know I read the post, and don't necessarily agree or disagree and then I've received a Red Dot (reputation thingy). Don't take it personally...easier said than done, I know.

I found my way back to this thread so that's a good start! Thanks for the encouragement. I did get one red dot. Thanks for letting me know I shouldn't take it personally!
 
Compared to some this forum is complex BUT that's because it is so stuffed full of good things ... and no I haven't been paid to say that!! I've been a memeber for nearly 2 years and am STILL finding things so don't worry about it. You are a savvy person methinks and will get it. Not sure why someone red dotted you though ... that seems a little harsh.

The red dot was given during the voting process. So don't worry about it. :)

The site is always evolving so sometimes it's new all over again for all of us. Like Carrie said, you really real get the hang of it the more you are here. It is worth the investment of time mining this treasure trove of information.

FlowerChat is a HUGE site with lot's of nooks and crannies, not to mention 7+ years of posts and data that is constantly being added to. The "Search Function" works well **if** you know what you're looking for.

Something to remember, once you read a post/thread it *disappears* until there is another new post made in that thread. They are available again the same day, under "Quick Links" and "Todays Posts" if you're looking for one you read or posted in.

I'd suggest you read the HOW TO Thread to get some pointers.

If you have specific questions after reading the above thread, send me a PM by clicking on my name and selecting such.

Yes.....you ARE stupid...you SHOULD have joined FlowerChat a LONG time ago!..let ME ask you this.....were you "stupid" when you started driving a car, were you "stupid" when you started into the floral biz??
Look at ME.....I've been in this biz a LONG time, and STILL "qualify" for the years BEST "stupid" award...I take my pants of, and I STILL GOTS "stupid genes".....
You'll work it out.......

No you are NOT stupid...I am still feeling my way around here...I have learned a lot in the short time I am here...but still am having a problem with the ins and outs...lol

I'm in the same boat! I've been on FC since Feb., and don't know alot about the "nooks and crannies." I just post things or answer questions, and thank people for good posts. Don't know anything about the red or green dots. I inadvertently said "no thanks" to someone once, and found it later and deleted it! Don't even know how I did it! Hope I didn't hurt their feelings. I'm not here to throw arrows at anyone, that's mean IMO. Maybe that red dot for you was a "slip of the keyboard?"

But, I enjoy being on FC w/the little knowledge I have of all the bells and whistles -- I've learned alot, laughed alot, and hopefully have helped in some posts.

So, no you're not stupid -- great analogy in the posts above about "learning how to drive a car" etc....just have fun and learn stuff!

Don't worry about it... it's part of the voting process. We are a community here, a large, sometimes boistrous world. Not everyone agrees, but almost everyone will pitch in and help as you need it. :)

I have been reading posts, but now I love posting. I love the information that we receive. Thanks for the help that all of you offer us. I have a problem with finding posts also.
