The lady wants a silk rose casket spray with roses in it that they can pull out at the gravesite that has a clip on the back of the rose so they can clip it on a lapel.
The funeral director is trying to explain it to me and I'm not understanding it at all.
HELP me if you can ????????????

I finally talked to the person ordereding the casket spray she wants the little ribbon roses on a bigger ribbon so people can take one if they want to. This may be a real eye opening experience. Off to a craft store tonight or and office supply store to find clips that they use for badges and then figure out how to attach them.
Is it me or are people getting harder to please all the time and wanting thing that are possible but take a lot of time.

Why don't you use the corsage magnets. That way they can very easily attach them to the lapels or for a woman.

That would be nice if we had alot of money to work with $175.00 total on a pre need funeral.
Now the lady is coming in to talk to me maybe I can finally get this pinned down to what she wants. Funeral director told me she is a little strange great that will make my day.

The lady came in and she wants small ribbons with these small silk roses clipped onto the ribons so people can take them after the service. So glad I got to talk to the lady who was ordering. The funeral director had me really mixed. I ask if she had seen this somewhere before and she told me no. Will try and get a picture of it.
This funeral is different they are serving biscuits and gravy for the meal after the service. The little old lady worked a breakfast shift for years at a diner.

I wouldn't do that for $175. The time it takes and the cost of that many silk roses and clips is going to make this a break even job at best. Why not suggest a modest fresh casket spray of carnations and a basket of lapel flowers, silk or fresh for the mourners? Way easier with the same end result.

Going to and office store tonight and get the clips they use for key cards and badges.
As for the money they did come up with more money. They do not want a big spray they are more looking for the ribbons with the smaller roses clipped on.

I would suggest using 'crimp terminals' from an electrical supply outlet. These can be applied to the silk rose with a hot glue gun and then clipped onto the ribbon, just like she asked. I made something like this for a fall retreat once and it worked very well.

Yeah, and I want EXTRA STUFF TOO!

Pre-Need/Pre-Paid of $175.00 gets ya a Casket Cover barely, but that's it.

Accessories are available at additional optional costs.

And taking individual roses and attaching them on a ribbon with additional clips for a possible use as a boutonniere for thems that wants em, is a NICE GESTURE, but a heck uv a lotta extra work.

I'd offer her two options.

1. Roses from the Casket cover can be pulled out, broken off, and pinned on lapels with boutonniere pins, and at no additional costs. The funeral director (the guy who makes the serious money) can assist the family in those efforts.

2. Roses supplied by me and pinned onto the ribbon with clips as per her instructions, are available at an additional cost of $5 per unit.

Those would be my choices, and as always, everything in life is about OPTIONS and CHOICES.

Similar to asking the funeral director to throw in the six pallbearers because, after all, you bought the casket, RIGHT? Say WHAT?
lol

While profitability is always the goal, occasionally it's important to assess the situation and aim for a long term affect... customer/client loyalty and their word of mouth advertising can do wonders for the financial picture down the road.

Besides, it's good for the soul to provide a kindness now and again.

Glad you were able to fulfill their wishes and I'm glad they came through with more money for your efforts. Well done.
