Hey all,
I need some advice. How would you wire amaryllis blooms into a bridal bouquet?
I need to do that in a piece for Saturday and I tried to wire it, but it seems a bit shady in mechanics if you know what I mean.

Any advice?

I usually separate the blooms and place them individually, otherwise there's too much space between the florets, and controlling the direction of the blossoms is difficult.

To wire the flowers, I cross-pierce through the calyx using thin wires (26 or so), then tape. It's strong enough to control the bloom without damaging the stem.

HTH Hope you share a photo. I love amaryllis in bouquets.

Thank you both for the tips.
I hadn't thought of cross-wiring, but I think that it will work. I'll try it tomorrow.
I will share the pic after it's finished....looking forward to working on it. It's nice to get a bride what doesn't want the same old thing!

I like using the cowee pick when it's a whole stem, but not when it's individual blooms. But I'll try that separately to see how that may work in other instances....

Thanks again!

Here's the picture

Finally, I have loaded the bouquet of amaryllis! I had forgotten.

Very nice, Christi! What mechanics did you finally go with?
