Beyond disgusting!

liberal

This story represents liberal ideals at their finest.

Forget about the fact, that he was stealing from the store. They have no right to protect their property.

Forget about the fact, that stealing is responsible for added costs by normal consumers.

Forget the fact that many stores refuse to locate in areas of crime because losses like this results in poor profits. And to add insult to injury, what about the jobs that are lost when stores close location due to problems like this.

I would not be surprised to read he won a huge settlement from the company.

But remember, the store employess should have reasoned with him? The should have allowed him to leave with the goods if he felt they were intruding on his rights. Business have no right to expect to keep their products, since he probably had be neglected as a child and felt entitled to the items as compensation for what society did to him.

I think the store owners should sue the judge for taking away their right to protect their property. This judge needs to be personally responsible for his decisions..

I am a Liberal... and I do not steal. I don't believe in stealing, nor do I believe in allowing the criminal get away with stealing. The judge is a moron... I have no idea his political stripes. Stupid is stupid... on every side of the politcal fence. Geez....

If the force was excessive, the Judge was right.

It was probably too much force used to subdue him, and the Judge was right to award him the judgement.

Yea! Leave the excessive use of force to the professionals...,

the police!

It's a good thing the store employees didn't shoot and kill the robber. Imagine the wrongful death lawsuit that would have ensued.

Excessive force? he is missing a tooth! Had the story said he had several broken ribs or a skull fracture or 28 stab wounds I might agree that it was excessive. He wouldn't have been hurt had he not put himself in that situation. This world is crazy and there are too many crazies living on it.

My friends brother has home in his basement bedroom as the family house was being robbed. As he was on the phone with the 911 operator he heard one of the guys comig towards his room. He grabbed a baseball bat and waited for the guy to open the door, when he did he got a clubbing. My friends brother was really lucky because there were 2 other suspects that came towards the basement but when they saw their friend lying on the ground they fled.
The criminal that got clubbed was taken to the hospital and then arrested. And when he recovered, he sued. He sued a 14 year old kid that was in fear for his life when he was home alone and being invaded. Thank God for common sense, the case was dismissed by the Judge.

Too Much Force. . .

I hope I read some sarcasm into your post Doug.

employees of the supermarket in a Vancouver suburb used unreasonable force when he struggled during his capture. Baines lost a tooth in the incident, and said he now has trouble speaking.

a few years ago we had 3-4 students try to break into a local High School by going thru some skylights in the ROOF.

One of them fell thru, another cut up pretty bad and they did get busted by the cops inside the building.
They sued the school and won a judgement.

Parents were lawyers......
