Jim & I have safely arrived in NYC, no thanks to the wind at JKF or the cabbie from hell (really - it can't be good when your cabbie passes a dozen other cabs on the highway!). We enjoyed some fine eats at the New York Burger Co. and now we're open to other suggestions.

Our hotel is at Park Ave & 29th, and the conference is at 6th & W 53rd. Budget is definitely as issue, so we're looking for tips on a couple good places for affordable New York fare near either location. Tuesday night we'll be at a charity event at Black Finn NY - 218 E 53rd from 8pm onwards, so we'll probably grab a snack before heading there.

Ok, all you proud New Yorkers ... where should we go?

For the shopping trip of a lifetime......Go to Century 21 Discount. You will LOOOVE that store. Huge discounts on clothes. When I was there, I saw Armani suits that normally sell for 700 bucks or better for 150.00 - A friend of mine bought a sheer Raymond Dragon silk shirt (He has the body to wear it ) that normally selles for 300 bucks....He got it for 90.00

Ryan call Sal at Academy a fellow MAS user I am sure he will point you in correct direction. Anywhere in little Italy is economical "for NY"

My friends SWEAR by Century 21 discount. I have received some great gifts for that place. :)

Have fun Ryan and Jim... be safe.

Stay away from tall buildings with cranes on them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Luc

Luc, don't joke - that was only a few blocks from our conference!

Tonight we enjoyed the best Sushi I've ever had, at Sushi Twist. Tomorrow, Black Finn!

Hal, I'm scared to ask Sal. The last time I talked with him he bought me a $70 glass of Johnny Walker Blue. The man has fine taste, but a little beyond my means :)

Good luck in the city Ryan.
If I wasn't so far to the east I'd venture in and give the the economical tour.
Enjoy your stay !
Sal at Academy knows the ins and outs, just stay away from the Blue and you'll be fine.
Talk soon.

I couldn't go to NY and not see a broadway play/musical. Go to the 1/2 price ticket booth down on times square and see what is available.....and,any deli is a good place to eat. Most of the times one order is enough for two to eat. grab it to go ,and head to central park for some people watching.......if it's not to cold!
have a great time......will we see you at the today show in the crowd of people?

Also, while in New York, Visiting Ellis Island and the Statue is a must. I so enjoyed that when I went to New York, also, You can get some amazingly cheap deals on things in Chinatown. I bought Mom a gorgeous silk scarf - normally sells for about 50 bucks in a fine dept. store......for 5 bucks
