I started a thread last night about this but it never showed up, so hopefully this one will.

Anyhoo-
Hubby and I are in the market for a new car and we are thinking about the Rav4.
So I'm looking for some feed back. I don't know anybody who has one.

Hubby is concerned that it wont be comfortable. We like to take road trips.

How's the gas mileage, does it feel "tippy", how many people can ya get in it comfortably, etc.

Thank in advance

No to both threads

I have a 2004 Rav4 that I bought last year. The 04 is very different than the newer ones. The newer ones are larger and have a softer ride, my neighbor has one and I have ridden in it. But in my opinion, the max for "comfortable" is 4 people. The backseats in the newer ones are more comfortable than the backseat in mine.

I really like mine, I got a tremendous deal on it, and it gets about 25 mpg around town. But I do have the 4 cylinder. I would think the gas mileage would be different in the V-6. I had to get an SUV because of a neck injury I have, I had a lower car before and it was terrible on my neck. So I love it from that aspect. I have never felt "tippy" in it. And the back seats come out, I find it great for hauling. I have a jewelry business on the side and I travel to art shows. It fits my tent and my tables, chairs and all my stuff quite nicely.

I can't say I like it for road trips though. Its a pretty rough ride. The farthest I have gone in it is 2 hrs, and that is about as far as I would like to go! But like I said, the newer ones have a larger wheel base, and I think they have a better ride. But I only rode in my neighbor's Rav 4 a couple of times, so I am no expert.

Hope that helps!

Ok I'm a huge fan of the Honda CR-v!! If you're looking for road trip-ability....I can tell you I drove across country several times in our CR-v. Loved it....the seats folded in a manner that the whole interior of the car turned into a bed. It was great for going to the drive-in with the kids. The back seat sat 3 comfortably and you still had plenty of cargo space. We even traveled across country with the 3 kids and the dog in the back. Worked for everyone. Look into this car! Man do I miss it...we traded ours in for the Civic Hybrid since my precious CR-v was already dying. My cousin sells Hondas in Ca and I told her if Honda comes out with a new designed CR-v I am driving my hybrid back to trade it in for it. I didn't like the design of the 07-present Cr-v. They redesign the cars every 4 years...so it's due for a change.
