Wondering what happened 21 hours ago????

Update: 8AM it is gone now. Is this something Google is trying to do to show freshness?

Is it possible that Google is looking at recent postings through social networks, blogs etc?

Saw this around 1AM my time and posted here. Got a Google alert about this twitter post at yesterday, and the post went out at 11:13PM the night before.

Since it is gone now, I am going to post some links to twitter again to see if it happens again!

I could be reaching on this one....

There's definitely an emphasis on fresh. Updates to content via your site, blog, twitter, etc... can give a little boost. Not a magic bullet to the top, but they're rewarding fresh content more & more.

Google has been doing this for a while, though of course not in every SERP. I believe this is different from the timestamp Google shows to tell you when you last visited a site. That's in the top line.
