my name is ray brunell, a lifelong florist since the age of 5. i have swept floors, delivered, cleaned flowers and buckets and have managed, owned and operated shops from $200,000/year to 2+ million /year. i have seen the changes in our industry and the death of those very respected shops who never learned to adapt to our changing flower world. currently working in the new york metro area 10 miles from manhattan.
i have worked with professor john sacalis, of both the ohio state univ horticulture dept and rutgers university in new jersey, and with my peers at cobleskill college for horticulture.
in 2007, i was contacted and contributed to the book "how to open and operate a financially successful florist and floral business both online and off" by stephanie beener.
