I was trying to find the old thread where we discussed symposium, and I could not, sooo.....

I will be inducted in 08! Whoo- Hooo!:bangles:

Being inducted in my home state will be sweet indeed.

I have been in the floral industry for 23 years.

I spent those years in a traditional shop for 15 years....I have been freelance from a studio attached to my home (open by chance or appointment) for the last 8.

So I wonder if people will be glad or sad that I will be inducted? :dunno:

Hmmmm......

I am celebrating no matter what!

Allow me to be among the first to welcome you into the AIFD family.
This IS a worthy achievement and you should be proud of your accomplishment.
I am excited for a very good friend of mine will also be inducted.....which will add at least one more to the numbers of members in our little state of South Carolina.

I will never forget my walk across that stage to receive my pin. And you will never forget the excitement of getting yours.

CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations, you've earned it !!!
And how great to be in your "home state" for the induction!!

AiFD INDUCTION

I am so excited! I am just trying to find out the fate of some friends that tested. You would think that getting my own acceptance letter would be enough, but I cannot rest until I know where everyone fell. Some of my dearest friends are from Canada and Europe and they will not know for another week! Agony!!!!

And my core customers that have supported me for years DO get it. In fact, about 14-20 of them are renting a limo bus, buying formalwear and tickets to induction dinner. Any excuse to get dressed up, spend their husbands' money and go to a great party. They are the best. Some are even going to buy a one day ticket to symposium, just because they appreciate design so much.

So I'll be in Chicago. With my own cheering section. Hilarious. Thanks for all the posts. Even if I AM freelance!

Many congratultions - wonderful that your clients "get it", and that they're helping you celebrate!

Congratulations to you!

And you are what I would call a true free lance artist, as opposed to a BB.

Super Duper news for you! And a traveling support team...now that's the best!
I love the part of spending the hubby's money...I do beleive that is in Chapter Three of the "book" as it is written so shall it be done...spend, spend and enjoy! lol

Congrats to you!!!

That's true, Joe.

No offense, Rhonda, but---

When you are from Illinois, EVERYONE thinks you are from Chicago.

Think 6 hours south....SOUTHERN Illinois.

We should be a separate state. Two different cultures; more country mouse than city mouse.

I can be in Kentucky in 20 minutes, Indiana in 35.

But I will not complain about the drive to induction, I'll be smiling all the way up I-57!

And I'll have to drive anyway, so as not to wrinkle my evening gown!

A group of us from South Carolina are considering doing the same type of thing - renting a limobus for us and having a fun road trip on the way to Chicago

...to be a fly on the wall........What a trip, in every sense of the word, that would be!

Connie - The organizer of this trip ...if we can make it work....is Madeline - I don;t know if you know it or not, but she also passed her AES.
