I have a good friend at a bloomnet/bloomlink member shop who has been giving me some information. I hope to be able to give you some of the things I have been learning. She is trying to convince me of the benefits of bloomnet/bloomlink......and I am getting all the "insider" info I can gather.

What I have learned so far is how they "guarantee free delivery". Apparently you sign a contract with them when you become a member that you will accept the orders, fill to full value, and NOT deduct your delivery fee from the order total. Also, You have to accept the order at the retail praice they give you, Apparently you cannot ask for more money to fill the order as requested.....as it reads in the member application contract.

Yup...dems da rules! That's when we ran for the hills and never looked back! We used to be able to ask for more $, but then they decided you ~had~ to fill for the amount given. If you want to fill under valued orders and drive YOUR customers away from your shop...sign up! I won't even get into the other BS with them...I'm too tired from filling orders from MY real customers and making a good profit while servicing them with quality florals and top notch service. One of the dumbest business decisions I ever made was being a Bloomnet member. Thank God I came to my senses!

Hmm, I thought that was common knowledge. I often just sigh when I hear that florists sign up for their bull...I mean service.

I understand needing a method of transferring orders. But, BMT is the last service I would use for that purpose. Anyway, carry on :>

Woo Hoo! Rick, where've you been??? I feared that you were lost in Tennessee and gone forever! Give me a call or a PM sometime, soon.

While I do have a lot of issues with Bloomnet, the contract I signed isn't like that. We are suppossed to take 8.99 from every order for delivery. If it goes beyond our area, we ask for and usually get the increase. I also only fill the orders that I want to. We are a very small town and maybe that is why it is different.

Mine is similar to yours (keeversmom). Not that I don't think Bloomnet is a rip off, but nowhere in my contract does it say we have to "guarantee free delivery". Maybe the new contracts have changed?

I am not so into wire service bashing, but this was also one of the worst business decisions that I have made, especially in view of having two services already. There has been very little in my shop that has caused as much headache as bloomlink, and it was a sorry decision on my part.
Absolutely idiotic. A completely inexusable display of stupidity. Glad I am out and have been for a year.

Hands down, these orders caused me the most frustration with proper charges, address issues, bad ph#'s, and poor timing constraints. I truly believe that they have found a way to target the most difficult customers, and prompt them to order. For months and months, any complaint that I had for any reason, stemmed from a bloomnet order, and I honestly think that it is their service model of building unrealistic expectations that does this. I think some people really believe that when you hit enter on the keyboard flowers pop out of the air, and these people shop with 1-800 flowers. jmo

My experience exactly. Thats why I am no longer Bloomnet. But they promised you the moon and stars to join. Promised 6 or 7 orders a week. Yeah, 40 miles away.

Sounds like a good synopsis and thanks for sharing that.

It looks like with the new directory numbers many that "gave them a try" are finding out something similar and bailing.
