I have a bride whose colour scheme is red with gold accents. She does not want roses for centrepieces - she wants "asian" looking flowers.... so I suggested orchids.

To add an indian element, I sugested she use red candle holders with a gold motif (indian motif) around the centrepiece and also an overlay on each table (maybe a sheer red and gold sari scarf).

I also suggested a crystal tree where I would wire red cymbidiums on the branches...

Any other ideas for centrepieces to keep with this theme?

Thank you.

All sounds lovely to me just wondered about gloriosa would it fit into the colour scheme?kinda of exotic and indian enough ?

thinking about it more Christmas came into my mind all that red and gold.Asian events are kinda full of bling and we sometimes dip flowers into gold spray and use glitter powder to have sparkle at Christmas .Might be completely OTT but you never know what people like and it might suit the style .would love to see photos of the finished pieces .

The sky is the limit.....$100 to $125 per piece.

I thought of the glittery roses - that was one of my options but I think she wants something totally "outside the box". She also wants to incorporate bamboo so I am thinking of making a very structured, modern and architectural piece for her....this should be interesting....

I will post pics of the finished product.

$100 to $125 is not "sky's the limit" to me. I'm curious to know what you come up with!!! Good luck!

Building risers out of Bamboo is pretty in expensive cut to different lengths tie together like a boat dock the shoots will hold water the ones that do not you can seal with hot glue fill with jamesstory orchids and bear grass glue the base to a loomey dish and fill with gold and red gems from a party store money should work with labor in their too. Hope my idea helps I think I have a photo of something like this on flickr www.flickr.com/photos/weddingflowers

We did a wedding last year for an Indian bride, colors were same as yours, red and gold. The bride brought elephants over from India, several styles.

Here's what we came up with, it's roses, spray roses and solidago with an assortment of foliages:

I'm not sure the significance of the elephants, it has to do with Indian wedding tradition I believe.

When a customer wants to incorporate something of their own, I'm happy to include it same as you :)
