The company's website is www.haggen.com/Flowers.aspx.
I have been employed at Haggen since May 2009.
I obtained a floral design career diploma via Ashworth College's Floral Design program.
I was not referred to FlowerChat, I found it via a google search.
I hope to gain more knowledge about the floral industry from my membership, from both the artistic and business points of view.
I feel that I can contribute new ideas to the community, as well as the knowledge I've received in my training.
I operate from a commercial building.

Welcome to the community. Please tell us more about you and what you do.

Thanks.

Thank you, Victoria! It's good to be here, I'm glad I found you guys.
I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for as far as "more about me" so I'll just give you a bit of everything.

I'm originally from Alaska and I moved to Washington to attend WWU when I graduated in 2006. Paying out of state tuition got really expensive really fast so unfortunately I could only attend for two years, but perhaps it was a blessing in disguise because in that time I realized what I really wanted to do.

I think the floral industry is wonderful because it gives the opportunity to make a profit but still allows for creativity. This is very important to me; if I can choose any career I want I may as well love it! Once I started exploring my options I decided to take an online floral design course. Although it didn't replace on-the-job training, it still gave me a good introduction to what the industry was all about and it most certainly helped me get my current job as a floral clerk.

I now work in a full-service floral department at Haggen, Inc. I have a fantastic boss who has years of experience and is willing to teach me everything she knows. I'm performing tasks far beyond my job description (including a LOT of designing!) which is fantastic because I'm gaining the experience I both want and need.

I couldn't be happier about where I am in terms of my career path and I'm thrilled that I found the FlowerChat community because if there's one sure thing about floral design it's that there's ALWAYS something new to learn!

Please let me know if you have any more questions.
