Well that had to have been the best convention that I have attended. While I always favor The Bellagio, The Venetian was well worth the $159.99 per night. When I let the front desk know that our tub/shower was backing up they put a $100 food comp on my bill for one of the restaurants and room service. That is one big hotel.

The convention went smoothly and Mike Soenen did a great job the night be presented his remarks. I think they were supposed to be one hour but some FTD commercials weren't run so it was only 40 mins. Considering it was his first time standing in front of 3000+ people he did well in communicating the company's objectives. The remark that stands out is when he said that FTD had not done some things right but that was going to change. When we were leaving the we heard applause in the hallway. I thought it was FTD florists applauding Mike but it was the FTD staff applauding us...the florists. That was classy. They lined the hallway and was shaking hands and high-fiving the florists as we went into the trade fair.

The trade fair was enormous and plenty of room to move about. The funny/ironic thing is that the hotel book a tobacco convention right next to the FTD convention...flowers and cigar smoke! You could smell cigar smoke in every part of the main floor.

Las Vegas was hot. I think with the heat index it was 110 so being out at the pool meant being IN the pool.

I wonder if there is any word yet on where the next convention will be? There are still many people out there for Wednesday but we headed back today so I could get back into the store tomorrow.

an amazing hotel

yes the venetian is an amazing hotel -

we ususlly say at the rio - go in jan every year - best food at the mgm grand Italian resturant

still here. Heading to see Elton John in a few minutes. They did the line the hall way and clap thing last year as well. It is pretty cool.

Best FTD convention in years!! New president was very down to earth and friendly, talking to members daily. Best programs: Develop a Whiz Bang! Staff by Bob Negen and Pricing Margins and Costs of Good Sold - The Two Keys to a Florist's Profitability by Gaylon Pyle. Both programs were standing room only. Never have I seen that kind of attendence at education programs.
The gala dinner and Jay Leno headliner act was great! Talk I heard about location for next years's convention was Chicago or maybe go back to Las Vegas. We just have to wait and see!! FTD staff now focused on making FTD #1 again!! Now is the time to voice your concerns, they are ready to act!! :)

It was our first FTD convention and we were very impressed! Everything was top shelf. The Venetian didn't have our two Queen beds, so they upgraded us to a 1,000 sq. ft. suite with jacuzzi tub! Jay Leno was awesome, as was the band that followed him. The classes were great, although even with two of us attending, we couldn't make it to all of them.

The buffet at the Bellagio was the best we've ever had--what a spread! Just cast our vote for San Diego next year, but wouldn't be disappointed in Las Vegas again. How was Orlando??

Last year, The Gaylord Palms in Orlando was a wonderful spot and the food was great too! I hope to see the convention move to a new place like San Diego, Seattle, Chicago, Niagara Falls, Denver, some different locations for exciting change from vegas and orlando locations. The Nashville location had a good turn out also, centrally located to most parts of the country, east, west, north, and south. Many drove in! I am anxious to hear where it is next year!

I doubt that they will even come to CANADA. AS much as I tried to tell them at least try it for a year...they are not listening...Edmonton was a good choice....TOronto, could be one, Niagara Falls On is a good choice even in Vancouver....
WE have so many place that we can arrange this convention but HQ is stuck on one couintry.,

I remember back as a kid, going to the Vancover FTD convention with my grandparents, it was the best one ever! The lobby had a sailboat (large) all of flowers, flowers were everywhere! The view from their room was awesome looking over the water and city. It would be a great place. I agree Toronto and Niagara Falls has so much with the falls, casinos, and it could be a international convention! Plus in summer the weather is tolerable.
