You may want to consider the customer reviews they are receiving since moving to Bloomnet (and before too)... I'm sure many of you will see the lies being told to CONsumers by this company. I think this will do more damage to 800Flowers than they even imagined... Or is the problem with 800F in the first place? Maybe so... probably both...

Read them at: ReviewCenter

I sure would not want my business associated with this company in ANY way, even if I did deliver the item...

Wow not a single good review. Also, glad to see that the reviews are focusing on Fromyouflowers.com instead of the consumer blaming the local florist for overpriced designs (which is what FU CSRs try to imply). Too bad that 800 does not have enough filling shops for my area, I will still have them spam my phone lines this V-Day...

Oh yeah, fromyouflowers is paying for that review site with an ad the top. that makes me chuckle

Mark, I got the biggest chuckle when reading this and here's why. I found myself at a dinner Friday night with 7 other florist with BN execs. Prior to the dinner they all asked how my BN business was. I told them that I wasn't BN and then they ask how I got to the dinner. I replied, my wife's good looks (I guess). I was attending a Saturday show on marketing from 2 girls in Ark and I had alot of questions about Walmart. At dinner the conservation came up about PF and FU. I asked why the sudden change, they said deal been in the works for long time. I ask what was in it for FU and they said rebate the same (no comment on cash infusion) and technoly upgrades from the old RTI systems. I was told the Mike and Paul (or whatever their names are) are great guys that are helping the flower business. I then asked about what your thread was about and that went (un-commented), I gave an example of my own.

False advertising and bad reviews go hand in hand (usually). In another thread last week CHR pointed out to me that they we're advertising same day by 2pm of Sunday for Monday (I didn't think they we're this dumb) to do that. I have a good friend who is the IBO for Fed-Ex in Central Florida. Two weeks ago he told me that there's no way in "hell" flowers will get delivered on Monday if ordered past 12 noon on Sat. Fed Ex (I know they use other shippers) only has 15% of their resources working on Sat and 10% on Sunday. It's about logistics..............I know PF has some clout in the game, but enough to add 85% more resources for Sunday for 200,000 orders (guess). You don't see Fed Ex trucks past 12 noon on Sat and on Sunday. They also have a "no fault" and "drop and run" clause.............in place. PF has 2 hubs to ship from......... So I asked, "Would you trust your VD order for your wife at 1:30 on Sunday", I even offered to pay for the flowers. The answer is NO. You might be OK in the South, Cal coast but the mid-west, NE or north. Not even a prayer..........So they ask me what I think will happen.

I told them the all those orders on Sat/Sun at PF will be converted to FU and then placed out on the BN network. So some guy named "buttwipe' will be calling asking you if you have 5 alsto in purple, 3 pink roses, 4 stems of green buttons and so-on, then can you get it there in 2 hours. I'm not bloomnet, but if I were my machine would be off at 12 noon on Saturday. Last year when they we're on Tele, we did the same thing............So when all the orders pile up, here comes more bad reviews and bad reviews hurt all of us.

After this long "rant" my point is, I think that with so many bad reviews, it's being looked at as "a new business norm" and that no-one pays attention to it. If you have 1.1 million orders and you get 10,000 bad reviews, they market that the other 99% are satisfied customers with 50% return rate............ Boomers get this, X get this (some), Y and Z (to come), the Internet will be their new Walmart......................

When someone orders flowers (regardless of with whom) if that order goes bad, then we push that customer to another choice and we get left out in the cold in our underwear...............Just FYI.....:wide:

The real issue is that when an item is ordered from one of the OGs, that money is no longer on the table.

With V Day shoppers notoriously ordering late, the last-minute orders have a high likelihood of going unfulfilled, especially florist-delivered designs destined for businesses on Monday. Even if shops have the delivery capacity, they may not have the product to fill 'like the picture' - especially at the *low* prices being offered by some of the companies. Orders will bounce around the system - and you can bet the non-deliveries will be blamed on local shops - and not on the OGs who took the consumers' dollars knowing the likelihood of delivery was low.

FU is offering 1 Dz florist-delivered medium stem red roses in a vase for $39.99 ($33.99 if ordered today) for V Day delivery. Really! I can only question the sanity of any florist who welcomes those orders as incomings. (That's $26.70 to the local florist to make and deliver!)

This needed to be highlighted, it should be flashing as a message to every florist who is out there filling. Bloomstoady is one that WILL give out the florist phone number, even when that florist has REJECTED the order a couple of times.

Rick, (bootcampguy) had the best advice to deal with some of it. Turn off your merc, dove, etc. That will not stop the extremely irritating phone calls from these ogs, but at least they can't play a game if they were never able to send an order in the first place. They WILL ignore the fact that the order has been rejected by you, and they WILL blame it on you to the consumer.

It is much better to have irritating phone calls from ogs than phone calls from irritated consumers who placed an order that has not yet been delivered. Spending time hunting for an order THAT I CAN'T FIND BECAUSE I NEVER ACCEPTED IT is enough to give me a heart attack. Of course I don't do that anymore because....well.....I'm wire free.
