Unfortunately, Sunny picked up a bacterial infection before Chrismas and ended up in hospital Christmas Day, not a very nice place to spend Christmas obviously. Got no answer at their house today but he expected to be out possibly today. I guess Santa will be making a delayed visit in Mount Pearl this Christmas.
 
He'll be in our prayers here.

You do know prayers count more when they come from the big city, right Hugh? ;)

I STILL remember a few years back, getting the dreaded flesh eating disease in my left knee, and was just about FORCED to remain in hospital, until I pleaded my case to the attending physicians, that I was in the flower business, and HAD to be in the shop for the holiday.
They released me on Dec 20th, and told me that IF I didn't return by DEC 27th, they'd NOT take me back in again....I didn't go back...SIX weeks was enough for me!
I KNOW how Sunny must feel,and I WISH he feels better soon!!

Thanks for the wishes

Thank you all for the warm wishes, got out on New Year's day, won't be back to normal (as if I was)for a while , got to take it slow and easy , build my strength back up. I lost about 20 pounds in the week, after the first 3 days it can be related to the hospital food rather than the infection. If you were to look at my face you would think that I was sunning myself and over did it. Got to try and catch up the the paper mess after x-mas which got left for me. Have to really thank Marie and Dawn for keeping the place going while I was on vacation!
 
Sending you a hug from a far...which is best, because in truth, don't want what you've had! :)

Take care of you...that's the important thing...everything else will wait it's turn.
 
Fortunately its not contagous your would have to have an open cut or rub it into your eyes nose or mouth , which is how I probably got it as it broke out in my eye. kind of scary though when the docs are talking about meningitis and are marking your body in sections and checking for swelling , rashes etc. The worst was the fever which took 3 days to finally break. Not funny when you are covered with ice packs , compresses and a fan on high and everyone around you has their winter coats on and your still burning up. Hard way too get a couple of days off.
 
God Sunny....that sounds absolutely dreadful. Have they tracked the source of the bacteria or is a forever mystery?

I'm just glad you are on the mend...I repeat...TAKE CARE OF YOU!!! It's important.
 
It's one of life's great mysteries , where and when , may have been from looking in the garbage for a lost order and not cleaning my hands properly!!
 
Your experience should give us all pause (no pun intended)...we're all guilty of doing that all the time...never taking the time to wash properly. It isn't like we haven't anything else to do. ;)

My hands are so dry from all the gunk they've been in this season. I've found a wonderful cream at the body shop though...made from hemp. ;) Makes all that washing way more pleasant! :cool:
 
I have a bottle of hand sanitizer that I use and after hearing about some of the infections they found at the fiance's workplace (across the street from our shop), I started cleaning things like our phones, counters, keyboards, etc with Clorox Disinfecting and Cleaning Wipes.

As for hand creams, Crabtree and Evelyn makes a nice one too, (for those of us living in towns without "Body Shops" *sniff*) Gardener Hand Therapy. Gudrun got a tube a while back and believe me, a little goes a looooong way.

Made from hemp you say , hmm. Sorry to say but I got to go home and rest, seems 3 hours is about all I can manage today. Talk to all again real soon. Thanks again for the warm wishes.

I've given up smoking so I can't testify to that, but the fragrance is awfully nice. ;)

Can't take it across the border though...:rolleyes: Hemp products are illegal...even handcream.
 
Heh, now should they legalize pot, we're going to be the hemp and ganja mecca of North America.
