WARNING: This has nothing to do with floral design, but should make you feel better, if your day is going badly!

It was bad enough I had to work on my birthday. And worse that they gave me a 4 hour field trip in the midday, when I usually get to come home and chill. But they didn't know it was my bday, and they needed me.. so be it.
On my way to the field trip school, in the bus, for some reason my fire extinguisher fell off its mount, rolled down the stairs and WENT OFF! Picture me in a bus filled with white powder, barely able to see, trying to pull the bus over, put on the emergency brake and flashers. I tried to open the door so I could get out, but the freakin extinguisher was wedged in the corner of the door, so it wouldn't open. I get down on my knees to work this thing loose, and it's spraying all over my face and hair. No doubt I ate some of that powder, but it's not toxic.
So I finally got out, stood there looking a fright, imagining the police or some kind passerby would come to my aid, but no one seemed to notice. I called in, and they very nicely put me on a private line, cuz I was crying. Anyway, I let the dust clear and drove the bus back to the barn. They got someone else to take my field trip. The bus is a gawd-awful mess, 1/4" of white powder on everything and in every crevice.
One of my sweet supervisors came out to meet me, walked me in, sent me to the restroom to clean up, where 3 more supervisors came in. J****zus , I was a mess. Anyway, concern and hugs, and you go home and shower (or you can shower here.. I passed on that.. would still have to put awful clothes back on).
Why me? Why the new girl??? I was so embarassed!!!! Everyone was really sweet trying to make me feel better, and another driver told a story of trouble with her extinguisher too. Jeeez, I just feel so sad.
The good news is I was on the bus alone, hadn't reached the school where I would have picked up 40+ kids, plus teacher, plus parent volunteers. Picture THAT!
Now I have 2 hours to cheer up, hack up some more phlegm, and go back to work and do my afternoon runs.. unless they call and tell me they got a sub to sub for me. I'm sure I'll be okay by then.
Anyway, I will NEVER forget my 53rd birthday-from-hell. And the rest of the day should go much better, dont ya think?
Cr*p.
