If you pull each petal delicately towards the base (backwards from where it's oriented), that should do it...

Yep, then open the green casing and insert your thumbs on each side of the blooms and pry up a ***little*** being careful not to snap them off...

Have one of your drivers drive you through the Walmart parking lot after they close. They always have hundreds of open ones there.

Yes, that is the best, soaking the heads in warm water, then use both thumbs to open the green casing, insert your thumbs under the flowers and gently work them out. In the past I would get so frustrated with trying to open them, I know buy them from a grower here in Mexico and they are fully opened, sometimes they will have two and three blooms per stem, whole flowers blooming out of the main flower, major steroids.

For an event, where it need not last, but you want an amazing show, try splitting the bottom of the sheath with the tip of your knife, not going too deep, then open the sheath sideways to expose all the blooms at once. Sometimes as many as eight blooms. Listen for peoples comments.
