This came on an order yesterday....ADD ON: SEND A MESSAGE: ..The Sender of your gift has recorded a message for you. Call 1-800-691-1860 and enter Pin Number 949876 to hear it.

This is their new marketing ploy for the recipient and florist are suppose to write this on a card instead of the message :fdevil:. This florist is not... wtf@@???... please excuse my swearing, but I am not a happy camper.

THEY ARE OUT OF HERE!! NO MORE!! I AM SO DONE!! THIS WAS THE ICING ON THE CAKE@@@!!!

I am curious to what made you so upset regarding this recorded message? Did you feel that your name wouldn't be on the order via the card and envelope?

This recorded message offer has been around for a long time. FTD and Teleflora used to do it but I'm not sure if they still do.

I can see where someone would want to record a message. It is more personal. Also, they might need to say something that you wouldn't want to write on a card or they wouldn't want anyone else reading the message either. Just some thoughts that might make you feel a little better. :)

Yeah, not too sure why you would think this is any kind of a scam...

It has been around for a long time..maybe I am missing something...

Sorry, first time I have seen it in the last three years of doing this. :hammer:

OH well, I guess some of us are more ingnorant than others when it comes to wire services.

All of us are ignorant about something. Some choose not to learn and are satisfied to remain ignorant. You are quite willing to learn. I applaud you.

In Lotakids defense, we don't know what they have gone through with bloomFink (I love that).

This may have been the last straw. Whether this thing is new or not, I think we all know it has not been used openly in years. So it is a renewal of an old ploy to cut out part of what has traditionally belonged to the florist. I'm guessing that when you listen to the recorded message, you probably will get a "commercial" for BL. on there to! (A sneaky behind the florist back way of marketing to our local customers.)

We florist depend on that little sticker we apply or that imprinted enclosure envelope for exposure of our names, or we wouldn't pay to have them printed. Or use the POS enclosures that have our names on them.

I applaud Lotakids for their last comment. Getting out of BL/BN, I personally think it would be a good thing.

I think everyone lost the intent of her post, that BL/BN has done her wrong multiple times and this is the last time.

Lotakids, do what you need to do. There are many many shops dumping WS's, so don't feel alone or be afraid.

I think that if anyone feels that any of the wire services are not working for him/her, they should cancel their membership.

However, regarding this card issue, don't you still need to use a card with the information about the message?

At least that is not as bad as those darn ribbon record messages. They were this long red plastic strip thingy that had ridges all up and down on it. You were sussposed to run your fingernail edge over the ridges and hear your message.....similar to how an old record player used the needle to play the record.

It's new to some people. :) Don't worry about it.

IIRC, those ribon thingys were from one of the balloon companies......or it might have been with one of the older wire service holiday specials.......but these things were 'pre-recorded' with things like "Happy Birthday", "I love you", and the like.

I think I found a box of those thingys a couple years ago when I was cleaning out. They went in the trash. Maybe I should have saved them for their antique value!
