I got a tip from an industry insider that the upcoming Bloomnet statement (Feb.) will include charges of $7.95 for each additional shop listing, including each zip code you're listed to service.

This would put them on 'par' with the other WS as far as charging per zip - at a rate of about $100/year.

No doubt, florists will be busy and likely to overlook the statement during the run up to V Day.

Might be a good idea to call them now and opt out - or delete some of the areas you service - to avoid the new fees.

Yes, florists are their cash cow.

Happy Happy Joy Joy !
Guess I'm gonna have to take a long hard look at this and make some calls.
That would equate to a large chunk of change for us.
Hmmmmmmmm
Nope, not into any more donations !

Yes, florists are their cash cow.

This goes for all wire services. Something we do is enter the amounts of all the fees, including calculating the cc clearing fees into an excel spreadsheet. We try to every month, but it's more like every couple. Anyhoo, if you put the months side by side in columns, it's easy to see any changes.

Good thing about Bloomnet is you can do a zipcoade search for the previous year. It tells you how much gross dollars were sent to you for a particular zip...If it is low, cut back on that zip...
