Has anyone else received this letter yet, congratulating you on being chosen for the new codification auto rewards program???

Sounds to me like they are forcing codified product on us. And you are automatically entered unless you opt-out.

What is everyone else's opinion of this? You do get some nice perks if you stay a "member"....

Just curious.....

I don't know if it is the same thing or not but I usually get a letter during the holidays telling me that they will go ahead and send codified merchandise unless I opt out. I don't remember anything about any rewards, though. Might be somethiing new.

You have until October 8 to cancel the order or they will send you the vases! Better to cancel NOW! Don't wait!

At some point I may have received a letter about a new "card" program, but if I did, I didn't see it--must've been hidden in the other BloomNet propoganda--sneaky!

This coincides with the discussion about the now-infamous "cupcake" arrangement--(Bloomery, your is cuter!)

About a week ago while checking my BloomNet product order--(as a new BloomNet member you get a $100. rebate) and on the list of products that I had ordered, paid for, and already received, I see a new entry: "Cupcake in Bloom" for 80.99 (plus shipping)! I call the 800 customer service number thinking it has to be an error, and the rep tells me it is a "card program" order, that because I didn't mail the card back to "opt out" before Sept. 7, or whatever the date was, it is an automatic shipment.

I tell her that I most certainly did not order it and want it cancelled immediately. She says not possible...I am a "select" member of the "card program" (translation: new, naive`, and probably won't notice?!) I tell her we will not sell the "Cupcake in Bloom" as I do not carry carnations in my shop and this is not the style of design that our shop does. She tells me basically, tough s**t , the product will be shipped anyway, and that I should keep it 'til the end of the "product promotion", and if I still have inventory left, I can re-address the issue with BloomNet at that time...Yeah, right, they'll take the product back after I've had it in my shop for 6 months!

So I immediately followup with an email message through BloomLink saying save their time and money, I will not accept the shipment, and please refer this to a supervisor. I get an email back within a few minutes saying the "order has been cancelled, thanks."

A few days letter I get an email from UPS saying my "order" has been shipped. No way to cancel on UPS end, so I await the shipment, and when UPS delivered it on Thursday, I refused the shipment.

This was the straw that broke the camel's back with my first foray into wire services. My certified letter to BloomNet to drop their service will be mailed tomorrow as soon as the post office opens...

They'll get my certified letter first. Thought that I'd expand my wire offerings and try them out, after getting beat down by their pushy salesperson. Had the software installed for a grand total of 3 hours and called to find out how to cancel.

My wife refers to the sales rep as "that evil woman".

deja vu?

....where oh where have we been thru this one before? Any guesses?

Best scenario is to opt out of everything they offer, all the wires various get rich schemes...

Bare bones membership, and like Jon sayZ...use them like the ladies of the night they are...

good luck in getting off their list. I too "tried" bloomnet for 6mo...Way more trouble than it was worth. It took two certified letters and numerous e-mails to the regional manager to finally get all the extra charges etc taken care of.Never ever will I even consider a wire service again!

Some things never change...

S.O.S. from when we were members. We didn't "codify" for the hideous "frosted" Halloween pumpkin container one year, and boom - our order volume dropped by 50%. That was the first nail in the Bloomlink coffin. The ONLY thing good about that w/s is the idea of their sliding scale membership fees. That's about it!

What's that saying about a leopard and spots???

I am so sick of the wire services period.....they get rich I get poor.....I could really get on my soap box here cause I have been trying to get two of the three I have cancelled....and I really wanna cancel all three. I being the new kid on the block here used all my avenues to get my name out but OMG who can afford them anymore.
I did not receive anything I know of from bloomnet about getting codified product sent...but I did get something today asking me about becoming a Martha Stewart ...ummm dunno affiliate?? or something thru them....I did not read it all yet and I might not cause I was in the middle of sending one of the head honchos of bloomnet a letter telling him since I have no rep?? or one who forgot where I am...that I want him to get me cancelled...as of yet have heard nothing....anyway I am Harpingggggg and I will stop.....grrrrrrrrrrrrr

THE McMartha program has been the phone call of the week as many have reported arrogant reps trying to push the dead horse program on them once again in a futile attempt to revive & reinvent it.
Word on the street is that many participants have cases of containers collecting dust.

I was told there is NO printed directory by this Bloomnet rep. You are charged $10 a month...that's it.

What did the rep mean by that? BloomNet has a HUGE printed directory, it is printed every 3 months or so I was told...I won't be around to see it the next issue. I was told this is the reason you have to stay in 3 months increments. But then again my rep lied to me about a lot of things--I saw him once when he signed me up then I never saw him again. Called 2-3 times and asked for a new rep, never got one.

Another reason I mailed my certified letter to leave BloomNet last week. I feel better already.

Its not just that they get rich off of us they continue to stay in business because of us. We enable them to continue to discount our products while the prices of our products continue to increase. just in the past two months our rose standings have climed an additional $2.00 a bunch. That means in the last 5 years that I have been in business our roses have increased by $5 a bunch while our price for a dozen roses have decreased considerably in order to compete with their discounts.

These incoming orders may have a small profit but those profits will continue to decrease as long as we let them continue to discount them. We have two companies that offer lower and lower prices as they battle between each other. If we just stop filling the junk we can start taking the right steps to increasing our profits.
