I love to read, and write... time for either is generally at a premium. However, over the past couple of months, on recommendation from my daughter, I have literally stolen time to read Angels and Demons and now the DaVinci Code. It's not often where a book and it's story makes me wish it would never end. I love being swept away by the intelligence and imagination of authors... both of these offerings have surpassed my expectations. Just thought I'd share my thoughts.

Are there any other recommendations for good to great reads out there? If so, please share.

Thanks!

Try this book

Playboy has great articles of great interest. Very informative and your imagination is swept away also.

Now that I think about it ... the stories in Playboy are probably about as real as the DaVinci code ... ;)

I'm not a huge fan of DaVinci code, I was already familiar with the concept because of another book (if you want to know about that one, V, email me). However, if you liked it and you want a well written book - try The Romanov Prophecy by Steve Berry. He's also written The Amber Room and The Third Secret. Berry writes in the same genre but has a much clearer writing style.

The Romanov Prophecy is by far one of the best written books I've read in a good while. Well, in that genre anyway.

I liked it... I really enjoyed Angels and Demons. Maybe I'm enjoying the DaVinci Code so much because I've got the illustrated version and have been to many of the sites shown, plus it really piques my imagination.

My biggest problem was I saw the conclusion a mile off because of the other book I'd read. It's not my usual type of read either, I like mystery and scifi.

While expensive, it's really worthwhile to read the illustrated version of the DaVinci Code, or as my daughter said, be right next to the computer so you can visit the Louvre. Plus, it's a gorgeous looking book.

Angels and Demons is illustrated now too.

That's interesting to know, I'll have to look for it. I liked Angels and Demons, it was well written.

OMG! Angels and Demons and The DiVinci Code were AMAZING reads! Not my type of book usually, but WOW! Brilliant the way this author filled me with information without making me feel stupid or boring me out of my mind. Interesting, fast-paced, heart-pounding! Would recommend these two to EVERYONE I know . . . well, those who can read, anyway! LOL!
