Just saw this on CNN... Juneau AK... lights are out?

Well not really, but folks are cutting back, clothes lines, grilling instead of cooking on the stove...

Local TV station said their electric bill will be going from $1000.00 a month to about $3500.00 starting next week???

I have a feeling this is going to spread across the nation...if not North America!

It's all alittle scary. I already conserve on energy to the nth degree... anymore and I would have no light, no music and no access to the outside world.

the reason elec is going up in Juneau is because they had an avalanche that took out normal means of power and now they supply the area with power from diesel run powerplants - further - rates in all of alaska are based on juneau service - yes it has gone up 4 fold
