Wish me luck.. we are having our 26th annual Bridal Show.. and things were going so well.. we have 31 vendors and lots of brides have pre-registered...
Then the snow started.. they say anywhere from 6 to 24 inches or more by tomorrow..
All day long I have been fielding questions about canceling, rescheduling..
I keep telling them that you can't reschedule, flowers are done, food is cooked so there is no way to reschedule..
I am hoping the snow stopped early tomorrow so they can plow and then it stays clear so the brides show up.
Wish me luck...it always seems that everytime you get 2 steps ahead you end up sliding backwards.:musical:

Good luck Carol. I too hope the snow stops. Apparently we sent it to you... but not before it dropped a few inches on us. It could have been even worse in NH if the snow here was there. ;)

I do hope your show is a great success. I know the work involved. Let us know how it went.

Best wishes Carol....

We ended up with just under a 8 inches on the flat today...but lots of wind, and drifting..

Share your snow pain...

We're getting hammerd down here as well. Shop closed at 10:30am, about 12 in. on the ground here now, with the "heavy stuff" arriving over night.

At least SOME of the streets in Philly will be plowed...or - er-a, driven on, not plowed...Monday should be JUST FUN... :hammer:

Good luck though...tough situation...

- H.

I'm dog sitting for my brother while he is baking on a beach in Puerto Rico... this day I wish the wee dog was a litter trained cat! It's UGLY out there. Did manage to start the car and shovel the driveway before calling it a night. Dog can pee on a chair leg tonight if the mood strikes... not going out in that stuff again!

Show is over, thanks goodness

So the show went on... it finally stopped snowing about 10 am..
of the 31 vendors only 4 were no shows..
My brother came and plowed me out at 7 am... the plaza I am in closed today but the college didn't so the show went on..
Attendance could have been better..but it sure could have been worse.

The show was good.. considering that models for 2 of the bridal shops didn;t make it.. snow was 3 feet out near Nashua I heard.

we gave away over $3000. worth of prizes.. and we booked a wedding package with a deposit.. I dont think in all 26 years we have ever booked a wedding at a show.. the brides come in the store later..ususally

Boy do my feet hurt .. and I really hope to sleep tonight.. I came home dug out the hot tub, and sat in it for 30 minutes with a strong drink.

I feel almost human.
Thanks for thinking of me

Well done Carol! :) Enjoy the hot tub and the drink (or two or three). I still have to walk a 12" dog in 15" snow. ;) By the way, which part of NH are you located?

That's pretty much what he would say, if he could actually talk. Yes Mark, the process of his taking care of business is very inventive, and funny. :)

Bravo Carol- I was thinking of you all day yesterday. Can't imagine how you were able to pull that off with so much snow. I haven't wanted to come out for the last two days because it's been in the 40's with a strong wind!
