I know other members have posted here about the most popular sections on their websites. I was looking at our data over the last 6 months and by far the "Budget Blooms" category is the most popular.

Am I making a mistake by having this category available since it is at a lower price point (all items under $40). I haven't dug into the details to see if those people who hit that category first then move on to other categories. However, our top selling items that are sold through the website are under $40.

If I removed this category would it alter the average purchase price?

Just curious if anyone else had any thoughts on this.

Thanks!

if you're getting the orders and they are profitable, why change it? It may alter people not coming to shop at all.

I really despise web sites that make you jump thru all kinds of hoops and searches to get what I want. I want to locate and buy and be on to the next chore.

I'm with Kristine. Perhaps people are choosing you because you offer a price point they feel they can afford. As long as you are profitable, I would leave it.

I love this idea. I may steal it! You have to see different perspectives of the results. First, they are ordering from you and not someone else maybe because of this offering. Second, it is a profitable solution for you in this economy. Third, it sets you apart in uniqueness of consumer choices. Stick with it. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

I have a 'credit crunch bunch' on my website. While the economy is fragile I will keep promoting it on the home page. Once things settle I will re-name it but still promo it. After all I would much prefer the £25.00 in my till than a competitors. Since I added this bouquet I have noticed a positive move to buy this product. I do get people asking for it after seeing it on my site then trying to tell me exactly what they want in it. I point out it is a what ever flowers are most reasonably priced on the day. Not really a choice. If they then want to choose they spend abit more. But the bunch made them call me in the first place.
Some money is better than none. Next time they could spend $80.00. So don't change it. You will lose sales.

That's November I asked FC members for help (thanks!) in naming my new budget section: http://www.flowerchat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20262&highlight=green+reps

There were so many excellent and creative names to choose from, but the final outcome was "Local Hot Deals". This new section has paid off, it's not our most popular section, but we do get a significant amount of orders from it.

Funny thing, BOSS suggested "Budget Blooms" in that thread, the same as what you named yours.
