I received a phone call from my telephone provider letting me know what was new for 2014. One of the things is a free website. Of course you pay extra for ecommerce, etc. I have a phone appointment with the tech dept. this afternoon and I started wondering if I really wanted to build a page. I was thinking I might be better off having it re-direct to my established ecommerce website to avoid consumer confusion.

Thoughts? Ideas for content?

That's a good reaction to have Sandy ~ no way would they get their fingers on my real website. That's why I thought if there were just a redirect, I could take advantage of any traffic they might drive to it without getting in between me and my customers.

@RKF

What is the name of the redirect?

What are they actually planning to do with it? Most times I would just say "no thanks" as multiple websites will hurt your Google Local rankings by creating confusion.

I saved a lot of money going with comcast (cable company) for our phones and internet versus Frontier (phone company) They also offer website and other things I didn't go for. If you are going to make changes, might as well check into all options. Very happy with comcast.

ooh, thanks for that.

I just got a quote from Comcast for phone and internet vs Att.

Yep, I ran a search on this forum and found it right away ~ the redirect won't hurt my ranking at all will it?

Redirecting a new domain to your existing site won't hurt your site unless there was a penalty attached to that domain previously.
