Check out Jewelrysupply.com under swarovski crystals . The xilion rose flatback crystals come in many sizes and colors. They're great for glueing on anything you want to add bling to ! Use oasis floral adhesive and attach to ribbons or flower petals even butterflies.

Our designer saw this idea in the recent Flowers& magazine. Their butterfly had more bling....trying to find their source. Anyway, it turned out kind of interesting.

We saw that picture also and thought it was a definate for the prom season...where are you getting good quality butterflies...since Wildwood closed we have had a hard time.Since your post have you found the ones with the bling????
We just bought a bunch of the pearl type bracelets with the plastic back and the ribbons from Burton and Burton.Gives you two different methods of doing them..our local source only has the stretchy bracelets with nothing to tie or glue onto. There is a new "gem candy" bracelet coming out also but not sure if it will be in time for this season....
So tell me where you are gettig the butterflies! Please....

Evergreen Floral and Crafts, Inc. have many varieties of butterflies. There are many different shapes, sizes and colors. You can go to their on line catalog and see if there is any there you can use. In fact, I think butterflies are their number one seller.

www.evergreen-floral.com is their website.

For the past 4-5 years (when Wildwood started going down hill), we have found that Tom Floral Inc., 2880 Howe Road, Martinez, CA 94553 1.800.990.6009 http://www.tomfloral.com/index.asp has the best butterflies. They have a catalog of strictly birds, hummingbirds, butterflies, dragonflies, bees, lady bugs, etc (like Wildwood use to)......and I understand their website shows all of their product, but I have never gotten on it yet.

Not that this would work for the prom corsage, but another butterfly I would suggest is a animated (wings moving) butterfly and dragonfly from www.holbrookandcompany.com . We have sold quite a few of these on sympathy work....we some displayed on a silk in our sympathy room. Sold them still in the box also.....also they are great for arrangements I put on public display in our mall, 110v or battery pack.

Sher,
The BLING Butterflies are available through Bouquet Jewels. They have a website and also ads in Florist Review. They also have a new bumble bee. Albeit they are pricey...but very high quality.

Carol is right about Evergreen...they have really nice butterflies.

The butterflies we used in the John Henry prom book are from Van's Wholesale florist. They are a Plus One Product... so most wholesalers have access to that line.

We are doing research presently for the forth coming John Henry Wedding book and the new everyday catalog. They will all feature butterflies. As Carol said they are most popular.

Hope this helps!

welcome aboard

Glad to see ya posting! I have heard really great things about you from all parts of the country! Maybe one day you will travel down here and show us all those cool things!
Thanks for the update....we have used the bouquet jewels in our weddings but it never occured to me to use them in prom stuff...duh!!!
Thanks again!
Sher
I ordered the prom book from JH! Looking forward to it!

Wish we could get by with wristlets. All our girls have bouquets. They come in wanting to see the wedding books and select their bouquet from there.
However, butterflies, dragonflies and rhinestones are the preferred adornment around here. I'm interested in the butterflies that come with rhinestones on them. Our girls would love that.

Hi, Jay Schwanke,. It is so good to know you participate in FlowerChat. What an addition you are to this board. It seems like the last time I saw you in January, we were looking at butterflies.

Anyway, I am happy that you are a part of this industry.
